Also, presuming we "stand pat" and our below average team stumbles to 36 wins, the 8th seed, the #15 pick and a curb-stomping in the 1st round... I think the "Rondo is fleeing Boston" noise starts getting louder.

There is no "Rondo is fleeing Boston" noise. He's not saying it, his agent isn't saying it, the team isn't saying it and I don't think I've heard any of his friends/family saying it. It's people like you who can't stand him so they invent reasons to get rid of him.

You talk to Rondo and his friends/family/associates often?

No. But you've never heard comments about player's situations coming from their friends/fmaily members?

Well most of the time the family members are smart enough not to go on record if it's something knocking the organization.

Michael Vick and Derrick Rose's siblings are exceptions.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

I've heard a fair amount of comments about players and their plans attributed to parents, siblings and friends.

#9 - I still say pretty much anything can happen.  It's possible everything clicks.  It's possible Ainge packages Humph + Sully + our 2014 picks for a star like Melo or Josh Smith. It's possible Rondo remains a Celtic for life.  I've been saying the possibility of him being traded is 50/50... but at this moment, I think it's more like 70/30.  I believe Ainge will be having conversations this month about Rondo.  I believe Rajon Rondo will be traded.

You've been saying this for a very long time now.  How is it that you're so certain that he'll be traded when he hasn't even play a game?

Wait, Rondo is your favorite player on the Celtics?  lol.  I found that hard to believe but to each his own.  You've wanted him traded for a while now and I've never read a post from you where you gave him credit where it's due it.  Your posts are mostly about how the guy should/will be traded and how overrated he is and stuff

I always said when I left the Celtics, I could not go to heaven, because that would
be a step down. I am pure 100 percent Celtic. I think if you slashed my wrists, my
blood would’ve been green.  -  Bill "Greatest of All Time" Russell

He is suiting up for us, tomorrow night.   Hardly Fleeing town.  Maybe you dreamed this one up?
Maybe you don't understand the distinction between public comments and reality. Not every professional runs their flip mouth to the media like Gerald Wallace when they are upset.

And I wasn't suggesting that Rondo already wants out.  I think that a year of sub-par basketball followed by an offseason of minimal additions will cause him to think long and hard about Greener Pastures.  At that point, you're at risk of losing him...

I think you don't see the difference between what you wish was true and reality. What exactly would the "Rondo is fleeing Boston noise" suggest other than Rondo wanting out?

You're being over the top here.
If Rondo is around, and we don't have any stars to help him by the end of next season, there will be plenty of 'noise'. Even if the noise is fabricated by the media or just simple logic- Brd is 1000% percent correct that there's a danger in keeping him and watching him walk away.

Can you accept that there's a possibility of that happening?
Brd's accepted there's a possibility that we'll keep him and go after stars and hopefully it will work out.
So what would you do next season when Danny's tried to get Melo, Bosh, Lebron, Love and Aldridge and failed. Rondo's contract will end and he's being asked by EPSN every 5 minutes about whether he'll re-sign with the Celtics and he says 'I'm just happy to be here' blah blah blah like Josh Smith said.
What's your next move?
It's fine to disagree but at least consider, with some reasoning as to why there is logical concern for this viewpoint. It's cool to state why you disagree, but to start mocking every 5th post that goes against your opinion and completely dismissing an opposing view portrays an unfortunate character trait.

I'll also add to all the people picking on Brd in this post about him 'hating' Rondo- he's stated many times before that he loves Rondo and sees him as the best/favorite player on the Celtics.
But you know what he loves more than Rondo? The Celtics.
Just like most of us.
If someone loves the Celtics and is of the opinion that there are multiple guys in his draft and next years draft that are worth trading a 28 year old All Star coming off a knee injury for then that's understandable. You might not agree, but at least be reasonable.

"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

If you're worried about over the top responses why did you choose mine to complain about and not his? He first suggests that the previous poster doesn't understand the difference between public comments and reality, he then says he's not disagreeing with what the person said. What's the deal there?

Can you accept that there's a possibility of that happening?

Of course everyone realizes there's a chance Rondo leaves after his contract ends. There's no evidence that will occur though, so it's fairly silly to use that as a reason to trade Rondo. It's kind of like the guy in Stripes who enlisted to avoid being drafted.

I'll also add to all the people picking on Brd in this post about him 'hating' Rondo- he's stated many times before that he loves Rondo and sees him as the best/favorite player on the Celtics.

You can't tell exactly what goes on in people's minds but if you consider everything he posts about Rondo it's fairly unlikely Rondo's anywhere on his favorite player list. It comes off like it would if I put "I don't like Rondo's game at all but" in every 10th post or so. You can accept the possibility that that's what's happening, right? But who knows, with him anything's possible.
