I think the point that I and the OP are trying to make is that Green acted like a little kid who was taking his ball and going home when he chose to stand for the remainder of the game. It reminded me of the tantrums I see 2-year-olds have when they don't get what they want in the supermarket. I agree the incident was no big deal, but it is interesting to look at the way it was handled by the two players involved. Bass sat on the bench and Jeff stood and pouted.

Sure, one could say that Green was standing and 'pouting' over having been pulled from the game over someone else' screw-up (Bass committing three very stupid TOs).

One could just as easily say that Bass sat on the bench 'pouting' in embarrassment over having screwed up and got himself and Sully and Green pulled from the game.

I don't blame Green for being p---ed off.

If he wasn't p---ed off, I would be disappointed.  He wanted to be in the game, helping his team win.  But because of Bass, the starters got yanked.

I guess you don't find it odd then that Green stood for the final 18 minutes of playing time in the game. When is the last time you saw a player act this way? Again, I do not think the dust up between Green and Bass was a big deal. I just think it is interesting the way Green handled it. I don't think that is a big deal either, just think it is interesting.

Are you guys really serious? I dint think I've ever seen such a big deal made over nothing.

Jeff Green is a "Baby" because he stood up on the bench?  Who cares?  Whether he wants to sit or stand is entirely up to him.  He's a starting player and a top 3 player on his team...if he wants to stand then he can darn well stand.  He's made enough big plays and hit enough game winners for Boston that he's earned the right to stand if he wants.  Is him standing hurting the team's play? No, so who cares?

Also since when does a player's lack of desire to fight make him a Baby?  In all of Jeff's public interviews as a Celtic I have never heard him make a comment that is childish or immature.  He's an intelligent guy and is smart enough to know that fighting / arguing publically with team mates is a good way to get bad publicity for your team and possibly get yourself suspended.  To be quiet, keep his cool, the  discuss it with Brandon after the game (in private) is the mature abd professional way to deal with such a situation.

Maybe he was standing up because he was angry about the situation, and he wanted to let off that excess energy, and he felt standing up would help him clear his head and avoid him overreacting to the situation - if so then good on him.

You go on about him being childish for not reacting aggressively to his teammate, but how many people were cheering for Rondo those times when he reacted emotionally and got himself suspended from critical playoff games? How do you think actions like that leave other GM's in the league feeling about you?  Do you think that might be part of the reason why Rondo isseen by many as a hot head, and an emotional handful?

I bet after the game Brandon saw this footage, abd he probably was embarrassed with himself for reacting how he did towards a teammate.  He's the quiet, "for the team" type of guy, and I'm sure he would not have been proud of himself...in fact he probably looked up to Green for " being the bigger man" and not escalating the situation.

I say trade em both.  Get more talented players back.  :P
Bass for Asik.  Green for Monroe.  Then get your SF/SG in the draft!

Green was standing BEFORE the incident with Bass. Bass was still on the court when Green chose to stand. He didn't stand as a result of exchanging words with Bass.

I don't think Green should even do this and Lebron was never going to hit his buddy Chalmers but sometimes you have to let people know enough is enough.

I'm sorry, but are you saying this was appropriate behavior on LeBron's part? I'd have to strongly disagree ... unprofessional, childish, and not what a team "leader" should be doing on the court ... save it for the locker room. He had to be restrained by a teammate ... this is one of the reasons he got the nick-name LeBaby. I'm not a huge Green supporter, he's been lukewarm his whole career, but he reacted in the fashion he should have in this case, which was NOT to react ... Bass is the one who needs to change his attitude in such situations.

This is truth and this is what should happen.

LOL! We weren't able to get Asik for Bass, Lee, and a 1st round pick, and there is no way we get the Pistons to even pick up the phone if we offer Green for Monroe. Any talks for Monroe or Drummond will start with Rondo.

tp for common sense!
i have nothing against 2 vets having a disagreement, best part by far is green's immediate response when questioned about it
that is a smart vet thing, all teams will have arguments, green isn't soft for what he did that line is one  ::)  ahhhh what is the saying rondo haters gonna hate
jeff green haters going to hate as well

there are multiple ways to handle conflict, especially in public. rarely have i seen "hissy fit" or "calling people out" at the top of the recommended behavior list.

I agree. There's a time and place for the whole tough guy schtick, but it's almost never while you're at work.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.
