For those who want to sign Crawford at 3 million per year...

If Crawford keeps up this level of play as a 6th man playing 25 mins per game, he is going to get noticed and get a bigger contract elsewhere.

He has OK size for a SG. Excellent size for a PG. He has range to a few feet beyond the 3 point arc. He's got a good midrange game. He has a great handle and low turnover rate. His passing is at least adequate for a point / combo guard. He doesn't go ball hog style and freeze out his teammates like many good scorers. And its generally a good thing to have a super confident heat check guy on your team. I like what I am seeing.

I think one of these blokes will be traded.

Crawford, if he keeps it up, might be in line for a contract that is more than Nate Robinson money but less than JR Smith money.

Since moving out of the starting PG role, Avery Bradley has been averaging 13.6ppg on a 46.1 FG% and 40.0 3P% over 18 games.  I think he is capable of maintaining numbers around that level for the rest of the season and has the upside to improve in the future.  How much is that worth when added to his stellar defense?

I predict Bradley is going to be traded.  He's going to receive a lot of interest in the offseason and some team is going to offer him a nice contract that Danny can't/won't want to match.  I don't think his value can get any higher than it is now - he's healthy, shooting the ball well, and his defense... well, we all know about his D.

I'd hate to see him go as I'm a huge Bradley fan, but Danny will get the right value for him.

Yes. But the the question is how much do we offer them? If say Crawfish is at 4Mn and Bradley at 4Mn I'd be fine with that.

I would look to trade Crawford while we could get something for him. Otherwise I would sign both of those guys if the price was reasonable.

I think that Danny will match whatever offer Bradley gets as a free agent, up to about $7 mil per year, and I expect him to come back for a little north of $6 mil per year.  With Rondo I wouldn't bring back Crawford, but that opinion is subject to change if he continues his current level of play in moving to a reserve role (which I don't see happening).  Also, as a 23 year-old who's gotten better every year and is a two-way player, the bidding on Bradley starts at the MLE for four years, which is a little more than $22 mil over four years, and will likely be higher than that.  Those who think he's coming back at $3-5 mil next year will either be disappointed that he's gone or disappointed that he cost significantly more than that.

They are both RFA's right?

I'd probably see how much they will command in the open market first. About $8 million a year for both is probably the price I'd be willing to pay (I think that's a bit overpaying already too but I don't mind). Anything less, absolute MATCH. But more than $8 million for each, I'd probably just keep one, and I'm leaning Crawford.

As long as Crawford plays in this level, and Bradley still be the pitbull that he is, $16 million per year for your SG rotation is not bad.

I understand, but if they continue this kind of play, other teams might.

I guess I'm saying is I will match any offers both get as long as it's not more than $8 million. That's overpaying, but is something I'd probably going to do, as they provide so much.

I would not come anywhere close to paying either of them 8 mil but thats just my opinion. Crawford for me is a 3 to 4 million a year guy on a bad team. I am not a Bradley fan so I even think 5 mil a year for him is a bit much but I could see him getting a Tony Allen type of contract.

Most teams that would want Bradley won't be able to offer more than the MLE.  I think Ainge would be willing to go above that.

All it takes is one.  Atlanta would be a pretty good fit for AB, and they'll have about $10 mil of cap room.  They won't go $10 mil, but they could go high enough to price out Danny if they wanted.  The Spurs should have a similar amount of space.  I'd be surprised if AB could only get the MLE outside of Boston.

One thing that may matter is if Ainge and Stevens are committed to the idea of Bradley as the starting SG (as I believe they should be) while other teams are more interested in him coming off the bench.
