It will be interesting to see when Rondo returns because I think it will give us a glimpse into how Danny is going to approach the rebuilding of this team. Will he hold Rondo out on purpose? Will we hear reports from "multiple anon. sources" that Rondo is ready to go but DA wants to tank? Or will Rondo return immediately and we make a mid season push for the 8th seed.

DA could also have Rondo return to showcase his health for an even larger DA like out of nowhere trade. Should be an interesting season.

Yup, it will be pretty informative.

I've said this elsewhere but I think it makes a lot of sense to hang onto Rondo for this season. Why trade him before evaluating our draft/trade options at the time of the 2014 draft?

Others might say that keeping him would torpedo our chance at player(s) X from this upcoming draft. I get that, but with all the uncertainty there I think Danny will understand that giving up a sure asset for a slightly better lottery ticket might not be the right move.

As far as holding him out this year goes...I am totally in favor of that as long as Rondo is cool with it for health reasons.
