If leadership means calling out the team via the media, I guess.

Its likely this team doesn't have a leader at all. No Rondo, new coach, and differing vets with differing PoV. Wallace can be loud publically but that doesn't mean the team is his. Odds are that the team is shifting through it all still.

he leads by example with his tough play (just wish he can stay healthy) and he isn't shy about speaking up.  he is a former all star that plays well on both sides of the ball.  seems like the leader to me, at this point.

I still think that you all are overlooking Avery Bradley as a primary leader on this team.
DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Yes.

Until he plays well enough that the Celtics can trade him in a fashion that allows them to bring back a useful future piece without a long time contract noose.  (have to hope)

Point blank: I don't think you can be a true leader on the team if your play doesn't really back it up.

Same reason I don't see Bogans or Bass as potential "leaders" on the team . . . but good guys to have around to demonstrate work ethic / professionalism nonetheless.

I think his play does back it up, at least on one end of the floor.  Defense is as important as offense, and Avery plays it exceptionally well, well enough to be a team leader, in my opinion.

The defense is nice, but he's as inept as anybody on offense, and he's been out so much over the past couple of years with injuries.

I just don't really get the sense that Avery is a leader.  I don't doubt that he'd like to be, though.

A hustler can be inspiring but Avery is a quiet and shy guy with a low basketball IQ.  In no way does he seem like a leader.

This exactly. Sure he can put the lock down on defense. But he can lead or role model another player, especially at his age. He has a long, and I mean looonnng way to go before that happens, if he ever even gets there.
