He should be in Boston right now, not in Turkey. It seems to me that Danny picked Fab over Iverson for this season, and I dislike and disagree with that decision.
Fab Melo's deal is guaranteed for this year.

Its not Melo over Iverson, it was the Brazilian center over Iverson. Melo is a sunk cost at this point for the roster. Remember Washington had the option to take Melo instead of Collins and said no.

I hadn't heard this. Washington refused Melo in favor of Collins?  That doesn't make sense to me.  Is this confirmed, is it common knowledge that I just missed, or is it hearsay?

I think it's hearsay.  I'm fairly sure the C's wanted to trade Wilcox instead of Collins, but Wilcox refused the trade, so Collins went.  Never heard about Fab at all.

This is how it went down.
They were offered Melo, they said no as they didn't want any salary beyond this past year.

So we offered up Wilcox and agreed the trade and then Wilcox vetoed the trade so Collins got substituted into the deal.

Plus they already have a bunch of prospects.

thank you everyone for the info above on iverson and the non-trade of melo.

one question, does anyone know who we can check on iverson's progress, or lack thereof, in turkey this year? i dont expect him to put up big numbers at all, but i am curious.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I suggest using the Interwebz :)
