I just don't see how he's going to get minutes or how getting him minutes will benefit the Clippers.

Last season, the Clippers had Ronny Turiaf and Ryan Hollins backing up Deandre Jordan.  Is Mullens an upgrade if they use him primarily as a center? If they use him as a center, it's not really a Mullens or Jamison issue for the Clippers.  It could be a question of bringing in Jamison vs bringing back Lamar Odom to back up Blake Griffin.
B.Mullens (not an NBA level player) is a downgrade from R.Turiaf (average backup C) and R.Hollins (good 3rd string C)

It's hard to believe that once upon a time, Mullens was considered a top 5 high school player and even considered number 1 by Rivals.  His highlight video was filled with acrobatic dunks.  How did he become a poor man's Andrea Bargnani?
He is sooo athletic. Size + athleticism + some skill level. With even a modicum of effort, this guy could've been a really good NBA player playing 30+ minutes a night. And he can't even be arsed to do even that. Just a waste of talent and a roster space. No heart, no brains.

Give him a few years in Europe and see if he can turn things around for himself. He has had more than enough chances in the NBA.
