Some of his former teammates seem to not respect him because they think he is a selfish, stat-padding player.

He doesn't seem like a team guy. I don't know why. It just seems like he's out there to get his. Noah, on the other hand, plays all out and gives up everything for the betterment of the team.

Is it because of his basketball abilities, or is it the whole Kardashian business? Little of both?

Probably a little of both, but people didn't like Humphries before the KK business. He was always.... Humphries. A talented guy with a ton of cocky attitude that just rubbed people the wrong way.
Celtics fan for life.

probably 80% Kardashian, 20% he hasn't produced on a good team.

If he produces for us, great.  if not, trade fodder at the deadline (and probably still is even if he plays well)

I think its funny how a couple seasons ago probably 80% of the bloggers here wanted him for Bass.

Now he's the first to go if possible.

Im not a huge fan, and he does bug me for what ever reason. Just some people can do that.

But one thing to point out is that he's been known to play well on a contract year. Which is great for us, because he's going to be looking for a big pay day.

Ship Bass out to give Humps more playing time, get his numbers up and trade him for a good return. Right now his return is not great, so may as well hold onto him. Bass is better right now, contract is decent and can sell teams on how well he plays D on LeBron and Melo for a guy his size.

2. He's never played more than 74 games in a season. In his career, he has played 67, 62, 60, 70, 29, 69, 74, 62, and 65 games in a year. Out of 722 possible regular season games, he's only played 558 (77%). For someone who is only 28 years old, that's not a very good trend.

Hard to really judge his first several years in the league when he was only playing about 10mpg.  I'm sure there's a lot of DNP-CD's mixed in there.

And to be fair, the season he played 62 games was a 66 game season, that's the equivalent of a 77 game season.  Other guys with similar trends (Kevin Love, Joakim Noah) we'd all take in a heartbeat without even worrying about their ability to stay healthy.

74, 77*, and 65 over the last 3 isn't that bad, pretty typical I think.  Over the last 3 years (*with the 66 game season converted to its 82 game equivalent), this is what some major players did:

Rondo did 68, 65*, 38.
Garnett did 71, 75*, 68
Pierce did 80, 76*, 77
Josh Smith did 77, 82*, 76
Carmelo did 77, 68*, 67
LeBron did 79, 77*, 76
David West did 70, 82*, 73
Kevin Love did 73, 68*, 18
Chris Paul did 80, 75*, 70
Joakim Noah did 48, 80*, 66
Lamarcus Aldridge did 81, 68*, 74

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

Well, I don't know how you'd hate a scrappy role player that rebounds with a lot of heart (and is talented enough to have averaged a double double not too long ago).
Some people here hate Noah, and he fits that description pretty well.

There's hate, and there's love/hate. If Noah ended up on the C's he would be a fan favorite in no time. That doesn't seem to be happening with Humphries.

I'd bet that a couple of hard fouls on Lebron will change some people's minds though.

If he comes in and gets rebounds and finishes around the rim i really care what he did in the past.

1. I just dislike him....has nothing to do with reality TV

2. Guy is overpaid for the skills he can provide. Has one decent year and gets paid a ton

3. Never liked the way he played the game

4. View him as nothing more than a bench guy

5. Counting the days until he gets traded.

6. Not durable at all...

7. Has one good year and then flops on his face last year...6 points a game for a $12 million guy? what a joke. He is a journeyman NBA player. If you expect him to put up numbers like he did in 2011-12...you are expecting too much. My guess is this guy will be hurt at some point this season and the Cs will be lucky to get a 2nd round pick for him

I like Humphries.  You have to respect a guy who tagged Kardashian. Although it doesn't seem too hard. What people are turned off with, is the whole reality TV thing. He and Odom can't possibly be taken seriously now. Before the Kardashian thing, Humphries was a stud. I know and he knows he is not long for the Celtics, but man if got paid less and was a double double guy, We would love him.
