Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes.

But only, if we are running it back with KG and Paul. This makes no sense if we are rebuilding as Kane is right, his age doesn't fit.

Gortat is 29.

Bradley 23.

No thanks.

Gortat offers more than what Avery can do, regardless of age, and we get rid of Bass' contract as Gortat is expiring. He'll be another expiring along with Paul and KG if he retires, more money to spend on FA's next season, all the while he gives us a big boost in our interior defense, rebounding and inside scoring to some extent.

Do it, if we keep our vets that is.
I don't get the logic of getting rid of a young player with value (Bradley) for an expiring. Bass' contract isn't bad enough to do that.

If we trade Bradley, it if for someone we will keep around for a few years, not for a rental.

You get rid of that value to get much needed interior help. We have Courtney Lee, who's not a defender like Bradley but considered in the league as an excellent one, and a better shooter too, so we don't lose a lot.

Understand as well that Bass' contract isn't bad, but we are getting an expiring for Gortat.

Like I said, it only makes sense if we try for another run. If we are indeed rebuilding, then we pass on this deal.

Rondo/Crawford
Lee/Terry
Pierce/Green
KG/Sullinger
Gortat/Randolph

As long as the new coach is able to get back Lee's confidence and can actually use Terry properly (which isn't that hard), that looks like a very dangerous team in my opinion.

In addition, for all those concerned about Gortat being a rental, why are you guys automatically assuming he's gone after one year? He already said that he preferred playing on the East Coast as opposed to the West as he currently does because it's a few hours closer to Poland. Plus, he was lost in Dwight's shadow in Orlando and has been stuck with a putrid Phoenix team with no hopes of winning in the next few years. I'm willing to bet that he'd be quite fond of being a critical piece in a winning environment should he come to Boston. I'm not trying to say it's a guarantee, but there's actually reason for Gortat to stay in Boston should he come.
