  • A true Celtic plays with heart.
George Karl could've utilized our young team to do a run and gun sort of play style.

But Brian Shaw is probably the best candidate. I don't know why DA even has interest in VDN. He doesn't even fit the schematics of Celtics system at all.

I don't really know VDN that well. How would he not be a good fit?

Vinny isn't a terrible coach. He just has issues with chemistry in the locker room, and at times makes bad rotations late games.

I would say he's mid tier, and if he really worked on improving the rotations, and making better adjustments would be close to top.

He isn't a bad coach, but he isn't someone known to be able to harness and control bad locker room personalities. If we got him and DMC, lol I don't know if that's  doomsday or Armageddon.

I haven't seen Byron Scott's name come up at all on this forum and I've always held him in high esteem. Anyone for Scott?

Don Nelson or Larry Brown

I'd rather one of them, who'd take teaching a young team seriously and have some real strengths in that area, than a middling Del Negro or Frank.

If this Clipper deal goes through, give us Brian Shaw.

Alright! :)

Why do you post?

All of this Doc/KG drama has turned someone into a crankypants.
Before a game on Christmas against the Pacers, Bird told Chuck Person that he had a present for him. During the game, Bird shot a 3-pointer in front of Person. Immediately after releasing the ball, Bird said to Person, "Merry F!#*ing Christmas!" and then the shot went in.

I like Scott. He wouldn't be on my first choice shortlist. Secondary list.

A good solid middle of the pack coach.

I don't want either of them. Too old. I thought both guys looked past it in their last NBA head coaching jobs.

Both guys had problems and appeared to have no interest / patience in rebuilding through youth. In win-now mode. If you had a strong playoff team, maybe. But I wouldn't ask them to take over a rebuilding squad.

Good, I'm not a fan of Karl and would have a hard time if he was our coach.

anyone but Del Negro. He is not what this franchise needs

I prefer Brian Shaw...boston roots, winner, learned under phil.

NO DEL NEGRO

He didn't even want to play for boston when he was here, what makes you think he'd want to coach in boston now?

Lack of viable options elsewhere.

i hope ainge can get lawrence frank back into boston. gives frank a chance to be the head coach. he already knows the celtics plays and management. i think he is a good coach.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
