Can anyone enlighten me on why the Raptors and Bucks haven't won championships yet?

I'll give you a hint: they tried to do what we're doing now.

Just for the record, the Bucks won it all in 71'

And they haven't won since. I guess we can wait 43+ years for our next banner too.

Edit: you're probably not getting my point (?)

You provide no reasonable alternative to rebuild a contender. How else do you propose to do it?

Raptors got Rudy Gay mid season
With some decent acquisitions this summer, they can be play off bound

Bucks tried to get Josh Smith. And it's obvious they'd be better with that guy.

Everything doesn't go as planned, but there aren't a ton of teams that have done well just by tanking.

If we move Rondo we will be definitely miss the playoffs.  I hope the right trade option comes along so we can do just that.

So what is everyone's opinion about how long we hold on to Jordan and Bledsoe if this goes down?  Is their trade value higher right now coming off last season with the clippers, or is it better to give them a year here to show off their skills on a less talented team to push up their trade value?

Unless they really outperform from their career histories, I don't want Jordan and Bledsoe as long term celtics.  I am really not sold on either player.

Nope, I fully understand the point about no man's land NBA, you were just being historically inaccurate. Hence, "Just for the record"

I do half agree with you. I hope Ainge moves DJ for a 1st rounder and an expiring and EB in similar fashion right away, so we are really in the running for Wiggins. Both players would be easily movable.

I'd say we really need at least half a season if not a full season to showcase their skills with more playing time.

Bledsoe would get to start for the 1st half of the season with Rondo out, so we could potentially trade him mid-season before his contract runs out.

Jordan I figure needs a full season to convince people he's better than what he showed this year.

Oh, by that I meant that by following the Bucks' current strategy, they aren't getting a championship this season, or anytime soon (Monta Ellis, Brandon Jennings debacle.. failure of coach, logjam of big men). Not 43 years ago ;D

can't forget DAJ has been playing next to Blake Griffin during his development...oh and has also been coached under VDN. I doubt he's reached his potential...starting with that awful FT%

And thus I believe we are being too optimistic about our chances of success with said strategem.

Not what you said, but I digress.

So to your point, what has their strategy been? They've tanked and won the lottery a couple of times in the last 20 years and are still without a title. Ainge understands that he needs all types of ammo in his firearm to rebuild. The Bucks need a GM like Ainge.
