Would Portland consider doing this if we also threw in a 2014 1st rounder?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=lvcyjko

Obviously, Pierce then gets bought out.

Portland gets two decent young pieces in Bradley/Sullinger along with Crawford's expiring contract.

I don't why but for some reason LMA sticks out to me as a guy that can be had.

Portland isn't going anywhere and they're about to lose him in 2 years to free agency. This way, they free up cap space and get a high pick for 2014. Also, they have incentive to be really bad next season because their draft pick goes to Charlotte if it's not in the top 12, for the 2014 draft.

Good Luck with that.  You don't trade a young all star PF/C like LMA for what you were offering...

I don't think there's any chance that Portland is looking to trade Aldridge for the lottery.  I think they'd rather try to compete for the playoffs.  I love their young core, and would be dreadfully disappointed in them if they were to make such a negative move.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Is this based on any actual rumor or just an assumption because Portland is a small market?

What?

There's absolutely no way that Portland trades LMA for that package.  They could easily get  a top 3 pick in the draft for Aldridge.

a Core of Meyers Aldridge Batum and Lillard isnt all that bad. Wes matthews is a good addition who can score. JJ Hickson coming off the bench as 6th man. Not all that bad.

Portland aren't dumping Aldridge. They are building around him.

Look for the Blazers to make a move for a quality starting center this summer to round out an impressive starting five of Lillard, Wes Matthews, Nic Batum, Aldridge and (new center). Then build a bench and try to compete in the West playoffs.

They are not a team that is looking to blow things up. They are a team with a plan that is moving in forward direction and has a good future in front of them.

Okay. I just look at the teams out west and I've got to think within the next two years that Portland probably doesn't even make an 8th seed which is why maybe they'd be looking to get back into the lottery.

LaMarcus Aldridge's value to the Trail Blazers makes this a non-realistic option, but Aldrisge's closing proximity to free agency (and his possible attitude toward resigning with Portland) might force them to consider it without Pierce.

Sullinger is going to play his value up to a point where this idea will have to be of serious consideration for Portland and Bradley might become an efficient 10-12 point scorer in addition to his defensive prowess.

We might be the ones against this trade in a couple of years.
