Run it back!, the culture of the Celtics will not be the same without the two!

KG can still play and Pierce has his uses, but there's absolutely no reason to bring them back unless Doc is going to completely change the offense.  Trying to run the same half-court "Jam in it to KG and Pierce" sets would actually be harmful to the team's future.  I mean, isn't it about time we see what Rondo, Avery and Green can do in an up tempo, more fluid offense?

I don't know about anybody else, but I definitely want them back. In fact, I will go as far as saying I value them more than a championship.

Of course I want to see THEM win another championship here since if that happens, it would relieve me of all the pain and sadness that every injury after 2008 has given to me.

We are watching two legends, legends that work do hard, have given us so much, have helped us so much, have changed us for the better.

I hold KG and Pierce single handedly responsible to develop Rondo, Perkins, Tony Allen etc. to where they are now.

Not only that, we are watching two legends that are far superior in terms of mental toughness compared to today's stars and far harder workers.

These two are the closest resemblance of all-time great NBA legends like Bird and Russel.

Maybe I love these two so much because I didn't watch Russel or Bird play and so it's the first time I have seen such hard-working and dedicated players.

For me, Pierce and KG are my sports world. Getting rid of them means snatching away my sports world.

I can tell you this much, if Pierce and KG leave, I will have no love or affection towards the sports world.

I will be among the first to admit it, I have cried a ton of times and I continue to cry every time I think about Pierce and KG leaving and my heart aches.

I value watching Pierce and KG FAR more than watching a run and gun team which, without them, eventually gets destroyed by Heat in the playoffs.

For logical thinkers, I want to ask you this: Who, if KG and Pierce leave, do you see anchoring the same defense like KG? The team that posts a defensive rating of probably the worst defense in the league when KG is on the bench, do you really think they can play top-class defense without him playing at all?

Who, if KG and Pierce leave, do you see being our trusted scorer? You expert Green and Rondo to score at will the same way Pierce does it? Pierce is among the most clutch players in NBA history. You want to replace him with Rondo and Green?

Pierce and KG won a championship as the MAIN options. They know what it takes. Sure Rondo won with them too, but do you seriously think he has that same experience that KG and Pierce deliver?

I am too emotional to talk about this, so I just want to say this. I value Pierce and KG far too much.
I don't believe that we cannot win a championship with Pierce and KG on the team. If we can make a few adjustments here and there, we can prevent injuries which in turn will allow us to beat whichever team that comes to play.

We have a ton of assets outside of Pierce, KG and Rondo (and maybe Green) who we can trade and get an effective big man that helps KG.

If I have done anything good in my life, then I ask god to bring back Pierce and KG for next year.

Boston is not player now in the Northeast with the exception of the Pats. A Genie gave the Celts a helping hand that lasted a few years and they could not really Capitalize on that. 1 ring was an underachievement. So whatever works in this pathetic part of the Country to keep the seats filled.

I agree.
At least a goldfish with a Lincoln Log on its back goin' across your floor to your sock drawer has a miraculous connotation to it.

Since you do not have better players like PP or KG, this team will be very poor without tandem PP+KG. If Cs get rid of KG and PP, Cs team will fight from 12-15 place @ East

What on earth are you talking about?

Do you know how many cities would kill for the run that the Boston area teams had?

One championship for the Celtics was a God-send.  The Sox and Bruins won a combined three championships.  You act like the city is a failure, which seems to have more to do with your unrealistic expectations than it does any version of reality.

ONLY as bench/role players.

Again, I don't think a starting five of Rondo, Bradley, Green, Pierce, KG/Sullinger is going to be very good next year.

Hell they really weren't that great this year.

It's like 2004-06 all over.

We need impact players in their prime, not guys in their late 30s

I recall Kareem Jabbar playing limited minutes at KG's age. He had backups spelling him.

on one hand i think let them play out their contracts, may not be great seasons ahead but i'm sure the team will be decent let danny work his magic and we are set.

and on the other hand I'm thinking team needs a fresh start amensty pierce and buy out garnett contract, find a way to trade bass terry, lee, crawford and maybe we can get some great players off the free agent market & some who are going to be amnestied to start a new era.
