I am alot more disappointed in Pierce, Bradley, Terry and Jeff Green than I am in KG.

Especially Pierce. He was awful tonight. And the offense was anemic. 27 points in the first half?

Sometimes I can't decide what would be more difficult:

(a) Trying to convince all these negativity-spouting muppets that this has been the best [dang]ed franchise in the league to root for over the last six years;

(b) Inventing a time machine to send said muppets into a permanent time loop from 1994-1999, so they can watch Rick Pitino and M.L. Carr coach Marty Conlon, Pervis Ellison, Tony Battie and Eric Montross for all eternity. Tell me how disappointing KG seems after a few thousand years of that.

I'm quite certain the option "B" might actually fit the Constitutional definition of "Cruel and Unusual Punishment".  Not even the government would have the authority to administer this type of punishment.

KG played long minutes 3 games in a row and carried us on defense and the glass. He left it all out on the court and was efficient with his shots even though he wasn't able to be aggressive, the Knicks traps were too effective on him.

Proud of his effort, of the whole team. I do think its time to rebuild.

KG left it all on the floor once again.  He just had nothing left at the end of this series.  I don't know how anybody can be disappointed in his effort.

I'll be perfectly satisfied if this is how he ends his career.

Nope, KG gave his heart and soul to this team until the very last second.

Pierce sure did have me miffed though.  But I'm not sure it was a matter of him not trying, but, more of matter of him just not being able.  He really can not be the lead dog on offense anymore.  The problem was simply, we had no one else to do it.  So he tried, in vain, and failed.

So I guess in the end, I can't really be too mad at Pierce either.  The loss of Rondo this year really exposed Pierce's age and inabilities.

I think it's a fair sentence. Don't forget about Brett Szabo, they'll *love* him.

For anyone considering transitioning into a  blow-it-up muppet, here's some required offseason reading.

http://www.rufusonfire.com/2013/4/18/4231300/another-bobcats-season-in-the-books-and-we-are-still-here

Quote
Three weeks ago, I was asked a very simple question: "Why the Bobcats?"

Quote
Basically, I think it boils down to one main thing: the story.

And each city has its own story. The Lakers are facing new struggles to their assumed yearly dominance as their world seemingly crumbles around them because of injuries, coaching changes and almost anything you can think of. Sacramento is fighting tooth and nail to keep the team they love and to keep the young talent that can hopefully one day blossom into something way beyond what they are today. Toronto is trying to break through as a contender in the East with its young talent even after a misstep this year. The Celtics are tenuously holding onto one era in their rearview mirror and slightly looking ahead to a murky future for yet another year of playoff contention. From each of these stories, their fans derive a sense of pride.

And for us, the wee Bobcats fans? We proceed through the misery and we survive like cockroaches, for this is our story to carry on our backs.

That's what blowing it up looks like.
I'll see you in October.

I'm not disappointed in any of them.  I'm proud of the Celtics.

Everyone made some mistakes, but they all fought until the end.

Man, it would have been sweet to finish off that incredible fourth quarter run with a historic comeback win.  We dug ourselves a little bit too deep of a hole, though.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

Doc said he didn't even know HOW KG even played in the playoffs, all he knows is that that's kg, he gives his all no matter what! KG had to play far too many minutes and he was injured. The guy was out there basically dragging his leg around! When KG hit that big shot in game 5 doc said that that 2 min rest gave him just enough to hit it. I'm sure KG was out there dying, so why would he shoot when he probably couldn't even get the ball to the hoop, he was exhausted! The guy wanted it more than anyone, you think he was being passive b/c he wanted to be? He played like 40+mins game 5 and had 1 days rest but he still gave it his all in another 40mins of play! His mind let him give us what he did! Never disappointed in KG!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Every player has bad/off nights, even in the playoffs, BUT... NO ONE CAN CALL OUT KG AT THIS POINT IN HIS CAREER.

KG has earned every benefit of the doubt in the book.

You say he's not focused, but it's more likely that he's extremely injured.  He's battling as much as he can.  He set a playoff record in rebounds at age 37.  He is the ONLY BIG on the team.  Our starting PF is 6'9", at best, and he was guarding a jump-shooting SF, pulling him away from the basket.  KG was the ONLY CELTIC IN THE PAINT.

Give the guy a rest.

And, no one can call out Pierce either.  You know he's injured, but hiding it.  Everyone knows he's injured, but hiding it.  Yes, he's prone to hero ball now and then, but he's suffering in this series because he's old and injured.  He's not a 28-year-old Melo missing 15 shots.  He's a 35-year-old Hall of Famer missing shots because he's old and injured.

End this thread.  It's ridiculous.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I couldn't be more proud of KG. He gave it everything he had and was our best most consistent player the entire series. I don't think it's rational to expect anymore from him than he gave.

I thought Garnett was a no-show for the first two games. From there (games 3-6), I thought KG did a great job on the boards but struggled offensively and, while he did really well defensively, KG didn't play up to his early season levels on that end of the court either.

There was a large drop-off both from last year and from where KG was earlier this season.

It makes me nervous about how much the team can depend on him heading into next season.
This is also how I feel about KG. Not enough left in the tank. He can't keep it up for the number of minutes needed from a guy in a playoff rotation.

I also agree with the comment someone else made about Pierce and Crawford. The shot selection was really forced early on. Didn't he notice how that was failing for Melo? Perhaps Pierce was concerned at our horrible passing into the post and figured we should just get shots off.
