I wonder this myself. Of all people to leave out of tha rotation why Lee? Tha Celtics are more about defense than anything and Lee plays solid defense.

Doc has allowed Smith and Felton to torch us from outside far too long. Use Lee and T-Will to limit them.

Exactly.

Just another one of Doc's questionable decisions.

Yea I'm one of the biggest Doc supporters you'll find but I think Lee is our best shot at matching up with Smith (a little late at this point)

And what about Shav? Dude was eatin up the boards and really carving out a nice role for himself

Doc seems to have dug in his heels about not playing Shav.
No one to play him against, the Knicks never play more than 1 big man and Doc isn't comfortable putting Shav in as the only big man to protect the rim.

Doc doesn't want him or Wilcox covering a 3 point shooter that'd play right into the Knicks.

That makes sense, but Doc had Jeff Green on Chandler for a stretch, when Bass and KG each had 4 fouls, and this lead to Green picking up fouls 3 and 4. There are some moments when using Shav or Wilcox makes sense, especially when we are getting killed by offensive rebounds.
I wasn't able to watch the game till very late, so I missed that. So Green was the biggest player on the floor?

for a stretch in the 2nd half I believe he was. He was definitely on Chandler, and not because of switches, and he picked up 2 quick fouls while we got killed on the glass.

I'm not saying play Shav or Wilcox 20 minutes, but there are some situations when we should use them instead if putting KG, Bass, and Green in deep foul trouble and letting ourselves get abused inside.

KG or Bass played almost the entire game (1 or the other or both of them) and Wilcox actually put in a cameo when they were both out. If nothing else comes of this postseason at least Wilcox can claim that he played in at least one playoff win in his career.

Doc put it on Pierce and Garnett to win this one. Problem is that Lee was also getting abused by Felton. Williams is the only one who slowed him down. Bradley was no more effective than Crawford and he at least gave you some offense.

Real question is what Doc does when JR Smith comes back.

It is frustrating as a fan and must be even more so for Lee.

Lee:

It's just an adjustment," he said. "Doc changes the lineup all throughout the year, it's just one of those things. You have to stay ready and professional, that's all.

Didn't Zach Lowe report that Lee had problems with how he was being used and Rondo's effect on that? At that time I opined that maybe this is the reason Courtney Lee is traded so often, that he can be a locker room problem.

I received a bunch of grief for that.

But now Doc and Terry come forward complaining about him not being able to get up from a minor injury with a playoff game on the line and that he forced the C's to play 4 on 5 for a while instead of just getting up.

The next game the guy is sitting.

Did he go to the team and overstate his injury and ask to be sat for last game?
Did Doc bench him for playing bad?
Did Doc bench him for not getting up and hurting the team?
Is Crawford just a better option given the Celtics lack of offense?
Is it all of the above?

I don't think we will know for sure until Lee is no longer a Celtic, which could be this summer.

Courtney is only a +2.00 Efficiency Rating for the playoffs and is shooting 25% from the floor.

On the other hand, Jordan Crawford is a +1.25 and is shooting 33% and 50% at the line and has ZERO assists!!!

KG shot 49.8% from the floor this regular season and is only shooting 43.9%.

It is amazing that we have played this well.

Win on Wednesday and things COULD get rather interesting.
