I didn't see a ton of extra motivation to win one for the city of Boston last night. So much for all that extra this team was going to give because they wanted to do something for the city.

Please, you act like they were actually playing a meaningful game at home in the garden. Gimme a break...comment after the 1st playoff game, not the final game of regular season. Hence the title Epic "Playoff" (emphasis on playoff).

i think its a bad example since it was against toronto, kg didnt play, and it was the last game of the season that had no implications.  the team clearly went thru the motions, likely to avoid potential injuries.

i think they will be very motivated saturday and moving forward

Exactly, you know what type of game it is when Fab and DJ are getting playing time. Would've liked a win, but it's almost like that final test you have when you already know you're graduating...little effort.

This is where we find out if Jeff Green deserve that contract.

I think he'll show us that he does.

Seems to be some extra juice for Jason Terry

Quote
Obviously, the Celtics are looking to win, but Jason Terry said there is extra motivation to win for a city that has gone through so much the past week.

"Well, it's definitely pride for the city, which we carry every time we put the Boston uniform on," he said, "but, at the same time, when we go out there, we will be thinking about it a little bit, and hopefully it'll give us a little extra edge."

Just don't over think it.

I'm skeptical on how much Green will contribute in the playoffs, we'll see.

In a way, he actually is the key to how far this team will go in the playoffs.  If Green can be consistently at his best, the C's have a fighting chance.

I know it's always about the championship, but I'll begin to think like that if they get to the ECF. Right now I'd be glad for an exciting, competetive series with the Knicks.  If we lose, then I'll shift pretty easily to the 16th pick, Sully back, Rondo back and maybe some Ainge off-season magic.  Odds are stacked against the C's this season, but I do think they have a puncher's chance to knock out the Knicks.

Re: Jeff Green, I have no idea what to expect.  I wish I knew whether he does/doesn't have the ability to turn it on when he wants.  He seems so absent and vulnerable sometimes, and then seems unstoppable.  Green is still pretty much an enigma.

ya know if KG is in a playoff series he will play like a madman.... Savvy ol vets like  JET , PIERCE and Garnet , and KIDD and all the rest on NY ...it could be a series to remember .

This could be the "END" for a bunch of these guys on both side of the ball.

I envision the series being a lot like the 1st regular season game in NY...The Knicks are good, I'll give them that, but I want to see them under pressure.
