per nike hoop summit via twitter
"Nike Hoop Summit ‏@nikehoopsummit 1h

Mouhammadou Jaiteh stock surely to rise after measuring out at 6'11 with a 7'4 wingspan. Everywhere online had him listed at 6-9."

This kid already seemed to have decent internet buzz, and now he measures in as a legit center.

What is his athleticism like? Is he an average athlete? An above average one? An elite one?

Quickness, speed, mobility, leaping ability, explosiveness.

What do the reports on him say?

The write up about him and his high light videos leave me a little unimpressed. For a guy with an NBA body and 7'4 wingspan I would expect more explosiveness near the rim.

Actually kind of reminds me of Perk in that he has good feet, good length but lack the explosiveness near the rim

From what I've read, comparable athleticism to Nene - quick feet, runs well, not a leaper.  Has an NBA-ready body already.

Long-term prospect.  Good rebounder, raw on both ends of the ball.  He does have the physical tools to be very good, though, and supposedly his natural touch is very good both on jumpers and around the basket.  No fundamentals... At this point he's a 6'11" blank canvas.

I'm all for drafting potential in this draft, but Jaiteh might be a little too risky.

Seraphin was mentioned in the Gobert thread. Is that a good comparison for Jaiteh?

Their physical profiles are pretty similar.  I think Seraphin is probably a better raw athlete.  From what I've read, Jaiteh appears to be somewhat groundbound.  Agile and mobile, but has trouble getting off the ground and lacks explosion.

so perhaps worth a second round pick?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

I don't know anything about him but from this excellent video analysis, when you see his strengths, you get a jolt of excitement and think maybe the celtics can reach for him at 16.

The footspeed is oustanding. Maybe even better than kg's and to the level of Anthony Davis. I like that he knows how to rebound and can finish around the basket. Then when you see his weaknesses, you are not sure anymore. Overall raw on both ends on the court and his lack of jump is a semi concern. I've never seen a player like this, who has exceptional footspeed, running ability yet can't jump a lick.  His upside seems limited. Looks like at best could become a quicker Reggie Evans.

I don't think i would use our pick at 16 for him. If we had a 2nd maybe. A team like OKC , having a late 1st and nothing to lose might be the perfect fit for this interesting kid
