To see the Queen of the league, who is already babied by the refs to make his game easier, call them out to suggest that the fouls should be called to make the game even easier on him is just straight up ludacriscy. And yes I just made up a word for it.

TP for the creativity and speaking the truth.

LBJ is disgusting to watch although he's a super athlete and a very skilled (and progressing) player. He's getting all the calls, he gets all the media attention and he still wants more. I can't stand him as I couldn't stand MJ or Kobe. They really think they deserve all that help and won't ever admit they're getting help.

Danny Ainge just did his job, because as you can imagine, those LeTravel words are not spontaneous, he's trying to get even more help. And it would be good other GMs/owners were speaking about it, because this campaign (BSPN et al) painting LeTravel and Karate Hamster as victims of the other teams hard defenses has to be countered.

I hate Stern, BSPN and those divas. I miss the 80s.

Also... the idea that Lebron isn't graceful or fun to watch is such a joke.

His approach is force, not style.  He plays the game like a FB/TE (or a rougue rhino) and BULLS INTO (smaller) PEOPLE.  If I wanted to watch football, Id dial in the NFL.  Maybe he should play for the Browns. Find out what its like to take a hit.   Plus as has been noted, he feels entitled to do this with impunity.

Maybe his style  fit in with the post 9/11 zeitgesit.

Agree here. I dont think James is fun to watch at all. He has much more force than basketball talent. He is playing football/rugby out there. If I wanted to watch football or Rugby I would do so.

You guys are just crazy now.

He is the most dynamic and exciting player to watch that I have ever seen.  He can do just about everything.  This sounds bitter and ridiculous at this point.

Reading this thread is embarrassing.

TPs to you and pearl.

LeBeeee-achh and all the fawning over him is sickening.

You mention the 80s? Can you picture Bird saying these words?

"But it is getting to me a little bit because every time I try to defend myself, I got to face the consequences of a flagrant for me or a technical foul, whatever the case may be," James said. "It's tough. It's tough. It's very tough, and I'm not sitting here crying about anything because I play the game at a high level. I play with a lot of aggression, and I understand that some of the plays are on the borderline of a basketball play or not, but sometimes you just got to ... I don't know. It's frustrating."

I sure can't. Kinda laughable and sad at the same time.

If you watch the clip of Lebron-Hinrich, LBJ does not try to go around or go by.  He lowers the shoulder and goes through.
Absolutely. I'm at at a loss at how this was not an offensive foul. The only direction Hinrich was moving was backwards.

And there's also the horrible non-call on Boozer on his last basket of the game.

James should probably just keep his trap shut, that makes him more likable than he should be.

In all fairness, when you're never called for travel or fouls, it's pretty easy to do "just about everything".

You're probably joking, so sure, ha ha.

Not that he doesn't get calls and leeway.  He does, for sure.  That's just how the NBA has been though.  Jordan got the same deal, so did Kobe.  You can criticize it if you want, no doubt, I don't love it.  But it isn't LeBron getting some treatment no other players do get or ever have gotten.

Lets just realize please that saying LeBron doesn't play with talent and just plays "football or rugby" out there is very, very silly, to refrain from using other words I would like to but can't on this forum.

I'm not saying that he doesn't play with talent. I'm saying that allowing him to get away with stretching the rules makes him look better than he really is. Maybe is offensive and defensive work would look just a tad less otherworldly if he wasn't allowed to take an extra step or bulldoze over people.

Fair enough, but lets not act as if this is something he gets away with all the time or the occasional "superstar calls" are not exclusive to him right now or to other players in the past.

When we played him, we fouled him on a few of the last possessions and the refs let us play through.  He is strong enough to play through impacts, you can call that "bulldozing".... I call it strength.

All that said, I don't think LeBron should have complained after going 27-1... you really don't have much to complain about.

Anyways, just my point is reading this thread is embarrassing.  If we want to criticize the "superstar call", fine, but this goes too far.

Im with you man. Lebron was going at full speed and just lowered his head right into Hinrich. He didnt try to jump over him go around him, nothing, just bowled right into him. If Hinirch didnt grab him he would have probably gotten seriously injured. He was bracing himself, not taking James down. To have people blame Hinirch for a "dirty" play in this case is absurd.

I think you are letting a couple comments get you in this thread.

Basically its embarrasing that Lebrons complains about refs when he arguably benefits both offensively and defensively more than any one else in the league.

Lebron is the best player in the league and arguably gets away with more than anyone else. So what else does he want? Any hard foul on him to be a flagrant now? We really can't change the rules anymore than they are already for him.

Exactly.   So excitement = watching him walk with the ball and bowl over smaller players? Right on.  Definitely the post 9//1 zeitgeist at work. Think its time for a change.
