Give me a break he got blindsided by dunleavy, then next play he's fighting pick with a high elbow. Because of who he is its perceived as bad but that was nothing.

Was this really that bad and obvious?  Maybe I couldn't see it from that replay video, looked like a bit of an act job.
Yeah, I've seen Dwight Howard throw more vicious elbows that were never called. I guess Cousins is developing a bit of a reputation already.

For sure on the Dwight call.  He didn't even have his elbows extended (the classic Dwight move, masquerading as a clear out after a rebound).

I do feel a lot of this is reputation.  I don't see it, especially to condemn him or suspend him.

We can even throw Garnetts name out there along with Howard. Garnett threw an elbow on Sunday that was worse than Cousins.
Trust the national coverage to make a mountain out of a molehill. Garnett was jawing at the ref, demonstrating how Ibaka made space with his forearm.

He did spook Ibaka for a second though, his eyes widened before he realized KG wasn't actually going to hit him.

But yeah I was annoyed they didn't notice that he was gesturing while talking to the ref about Ibaka's post move.

Glad you guys are both saying that, I thought it was clear but I was thinking maybe I was crazy or justifying it.  Would he really throw an elbow right while he is jawing at the ref getting his attention?

Is it just me or is Tirico anti-KG?  It seems like he loves talking about him being a dirty player.

No, it's just that the level of scrutiny during a national telecast is usually around freezing temperatures. They just don't pay attention.

dunleavy is dirty player,   he  had it comming.

Cousins I like,   he is wild as a buck and not fragile,or weak sissy...he has some old school about him, just raw and unpolished   but one day he will grow up and the the teams that snubbed him will grow to regret this.

the guy wants the ball, anywhere on the court, he is a fighter.......perfect center to go with Green an Sully, and AB......and Rondo too if it can stay out of a trade.

get him Danny!

  • Everyone's excited for the new era.
It's a shame to see a player as talented as Cousins act like this.  I'm sure it has something to do with the losing environment of Sacramento, the talk of the team moving, and his short temper.

I'd love to see him go to a veteran team (like here or San Antonio) and see what a coach like Pop or Doc could do with him.

Thats why its so worrying for the Kings. He has developed this reputation now and is such a physical player he is going to be getting calls against him like this for the next few years by ref's overreacting to anything he does.

It's easy to get a bad rep, its a lot harder to lose one.
