I don't blame Ray for leaving - at this point in his career, I think he just wants to be a rotation player with solid minutes on a contender, and that money is secondary. I think the almost move to Memphis really got to him. I don't like that he moved to the Heat - however, I'm not that sure he would have had that many offers to join a strong contender, e.g. the Clips backed out once they signed I believe it was Crawford. I also don't begrudge the fans who feel betrayed - how many guys leave and join the arch enemy?
At the same time, I think we did really well to fill his shoes. Had he stayed, a Rondo/Bradley/Ray/JET back-court would have been fantastic, but Rondo/Bradley/JET/Lee/and now Barbosa is the real deal...we are fully loaded at the guard position.
I think (and hope) that once the season begins, Ray stops talking about why he left the Cs, and we all move on. He was a great player while he was here, but he plays for another team; meanwhile, we have a load of new players to be excited about and to root for.
