As much as he's hated & ridiculed on these boards, David Stern could very well be the best commissioner in the 4 major US sports right now. (Although, that might not be saying too much).

Yeah, in terms of overall success, and in terms of successfully handling labor negotiations, I think Goodell likely has the upper hand still, but Stern is head and shoulders over languishing baseball and dying hockey.
Stern is great for making the owners money for now, but he did it at the cost of the integrity of the game. Nobody (except Dons I guess) really thinks the NFL refs are purposely trying to get it wrong. The other leagues haven't had refs get investigated by the FBI. The other leagues don't have players and owners publicly questioning the results of something as simple as a draft lottery. None of the other commissioners say they know where the bodies are buried because they did it themselves. There's a difference between ineptness and evil.  Any even borderline competent commissioner could have done what Stern did with Bird/Magic entering the league together, then Jordan, then Shaq, then Bron/Wade/Mello together.

Where did I ever say they were trying to purposely get things wrong?

Try not to put words in my mouth. I never said anything remotely like that.
You said with your own mouth in big capital letters the critical play of the game was a screwjob.

Looking around the web the definitions and synonyms I found were along the lines of cheated, to have your plans derailed by outside interference, etc.  They tended not to be along the lines of accident or mistake or even incompetence.

I would think you would have said screw up or something if that was what you were trying to say but since a job is almost always something we purposely do I interpreted the job to have been to screw up. Hence purposely get things wrong.

So actually you said something almost exactly like that. Perhaps you didn't mean to.

Find the post where I said the words "screw job" or even "screw up".  Quote some of my actual posts rather than some online dictionary definition of a word that I never said.  You're making leaps & bounds with assumptions on things I never said. The comments I made yesterday dealt almost entirely with how I observed that last play and how I didn't think it construed "simultaneous control".  Try reading my posts before making ridiculous proclamations of things I never said.
It's real easy to do. Click on my profile as then show my messages.

You are right and I am wrong. I plead some form of ADHD/aixelsyd/not paying enough attention and made a mistake.  It was JHTruth that said it was a screwjob and not at all Dons.  Perhaps I should edit that to reflect what I meant to/should have said.

Dons didn't say the NFL refs are purposely trying to screw anyone or are doing screwjobs.  He said "David Stern could very well be the best commissioner in the 4 major US sports right now. (Although, that might not be saying too much)."......which on a side note I think is delightfully ironically funny because I think Stern instructs his refs to engage in screwjobs although I have no proof.

But DONS DIDN'T SAY THE REFS ARE TRYING TO SCREW ANYONE!!!! EJA WAS WRRRROOOONNNGGGG.  WRRRROOONNNGGG!  EJA WAS AS WRONG AS WHEN SNAPE WOULD BULLY HARRY POTTER!  EJA WAS AS WRONG as LORD NEVILLE CHAMBERLINE WHEN HE SAID WE'D HAVE PEACE IN THEIR TIME! HE WAS AS WRONG as all THOSE SCIENTISTS THAT SAID THE EARTH WAS FLAT AND THAT MAN WOULD NEVER FLY!  HE WAS AS WRONG AS THE SUPREME COURT IN THE DRED SCOTT DECISION! HE WAS ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY!

DONS receives a TP for being RIGHT. DOns was as right as .....Henrich Schleiman. Dons was as right as the American ambassador that proved the Soviets were building missile bases in Cuba. Dons was as right as the WRIGHT BROTHERS!  Dons was riiiiiiigggghhhhttttt

I did say screw job, and I stand by it. In fact, I believe the league wants Seattle to win it all and will do everything in their power to make it happen.
