My question is two parts:

1. Same question as OP, who is on our radar for AB's temporary replacement?

And 2. If we sign someone, how will they get minutes? In my head when AB returns, I see Rondo (37 minutes), Terry (30 minutes) and AB (28 minutes). That's 95 out 96 possible guard minutes and since none of those guys can play forward, how will the rotation work with another guard?

I just can't picture it and I see my minutes estimate as fair. Honestly, with the roster as it is now I'm having trouble imaging minutes for players right now and assuming we sign another guard and/or center.

Can someone explain to me the guard situation here?
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.

Rondo, AB, or Terry get hurt. What do? You play your fourth guard, that's what do.

Well ya, but would a Courtney Lee type player be ok being benched after the first month or so only to get minutes when someone goes down?

There are 96 guard minutes available.  Gives Doc the opportunity to ride hot hands and play the match-ups.  Rondo gets 35, but that leaves 61 minutes to divide amongst AB, JT and Lee per night. It'll work.

Why not Bill Walker?

He's got very good size for SG, can finish strong to the rim, defends well, has range and knows our system.

Don't forget about Josh Howard. He's still a FA and we had interest as short as a couple of weeks back.

I like Josh Howard as a big power two guard. Out-muscling smaller wings.

How was his health last season? Did he have more injury problems?

Sign Jonathan Gibson. Kid is quick and and shoot, and is cheap.

If Foye is available, I'd consider him as a 4th guard in a second.  A total journeyman, but has some versatility and range.  No worse than Lee, perhaps better in my book, but I don't know what he did last season.

I'd shoot myself if that happened! He can shoot and that's IT!! The kid looks a mess when he isn't shooting!!!
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)
