The comparisons being thrown around in this thread make me want to drop to my knees and vomit all over the carpet.  Bradley to Dumars?  Bass to Laimbeer? Green to Dennis Rodman?

The Green Kool-aid is flowing today!

I compared Bradley to Dumars, KG to Laimbeer, Rondo to Thomas, Terry to Johnson, and Pierce to Dantley. Really don't know how anyone could argue with any of those.

Especially since I'm comparing Avery to a young Joe Dumars.

Dumars after 2 years:
10.6 ppg 4.6 apg

Bradley:
5.6 ppg  1.0 apg

Wow!  Almost identical!!

Dumars started his career at roughly the age Bradley will be next year.

This is getting out of control.  Joe Dumars is an NBA Hall-of-Famer who averaged 16 points per game over 14 years in the league. Bradley has a ways to go to even be mentioned in the same breathe as him.

Didn't Phil Plantier look like Mickey Mantle through 28 games?

Dumars first year as a starter averaged 10ppg at 22 years old.

Bradley in his first year as a starter averaged 12ppg at 21 years old.

Both are 6'3" 190lbs and are lockdown defenders.

I don't know what you guys can't get through your heads... no one is comparing Avery Bradley to 1992 Joe Dumars who was an All-Star and scored 23 PPG. We are comparing him to young Joe Dumars who was a role player and his job was to lock down the other teams best scoring guard.

In 88/89 Dumars was in his 4th year and was a 17 point per game player.

That said, through two seasons:

Joe Dumars 161 of 164 regular season games, 19 of 19 post season games

Avery Bradley 95 of 148 regular season games, 10 of 29 post season games
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

E'Twaun Moore is also a 6'3" 190-pound guard that started his career in his early 20's.

The Celtics are in great shape...they have TWO Joe Dumars on their roster!!

Did you mean to post Joe's college stats from when he was Bradley's age?

Whoa.  Check this out:

Avery Bradley, first game as a starter:  10 points
Kobe Bryant, first game as a starter:  12 points

They're almost the SAME!!

I'm pretty sure this happens every time Avery Bradley sees an NBA great:

Even ignoring the fact that the Pistons scored about 15 a game more that year than the Celts did last year, do people really think 16-17 points a game is such a high scoring total that it's unimaginable that Bradley will get there in a couple of years?
