Does this mean Fab Melo won't even get a chance next year and ride the tail end of the bench even in blowouts?
It would be best for the Celtics and Fab Melo if he spent most of his time with the Red Claws. He's not NBA ready. He may turn out to be a valuable player in a season or two, but this pick was for the future, and not next season, unless we're having a repeat of the 2006-2007 season.
There's no way we are having a repeat of the 2006-2007 season with Rajon Rondo, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett on board regardless of who plays alongside them.
Some nights up in Portland may do him some good, though. They've got some pretty nice bars up there . . . on second thought, maybe he shouldn't be let out of KG's sight too much.
