If Broussard is right, that's a fair offer for Ray. If he chooses not to take that, then that's his own thing. It appears that Ainge has crafted a plan B, so I'm good with the way he's handling this.

I agree. The thing is, if Ray is really uncomfortable staying in Boston, what's his problem? At his age, what does he expect? On the Heat he would still come off the bench and have at least 3 guys ahead of him in the offensive options depth chart. He's not  top 2 scoring option anymore, those days have come and gone.

ray doesn't like rondo b/c rondo went to doc and pushed for bradley to start. he didn't think that was all too professional

It was way past time for Ray to come off the bench. How many of us on here were pushing for the same thing? He still helps the team off the bench, he should have offered to make the switch himself.

Impossible to say who's right and who's wrong in this deal, and I'm not in the slightest bit interested in speculating.

However, any evaluation of Allen's play last year that doesn't take the bone spurs into account misses the mark. Totally.

The job at the 2 should be entirely open next fall. No way it should be guaranteed to anyone.

If this is true, Ray had better take it and come back.
I am fine either way(as long as suitable replacement is found), however would we then have enough to sign Green and possibly Camby????? Or is getting a proven big man out of the question now?

I think Bradley earned it last season - if he's healthy, he'd still be my pencil-in.

Or are you saying every position should be open?

I think, to a certain extent, it's not necessarily about which player is better in a vacuum but which player's contributions are most valuable to the team. When we were starting Ray/PP/KG/JO we were at a tremendous athletic disadvantage, with Bass and Bradley (and an in-shape KG) we were able to compete with anyone. I'm just not sure how many long stretches of 3 players in their mid 30s on the court at the same time we want to see.

good points and there really was no point in keeping this thing together if we cannot get good bench players where PP and KG  can stay fresh during the season and the playoffs.

I agree with this.  Bradley's insertion into the starting lineup energized the team last year.  Our def improved, and we were able to get a lot of easy buckets just because AB is fast and hustled to get good cuts to the basket.

Ray just can't do that.  He is too slow now, and starting him stagnates our O while we try to free him up off multiple screens.  We are just better with Ray coming off the bench.

ray doesn't like rondo b/c rondo went to doc and pushed for bradley to start. he didn't think that was all too professional

If that rumor is true the most disturbing part is that Doc needed a player to convince him to do something that was clearly better for the team.

Yup, wouldn't surprise me tho. It took alot for doc to put AB in the starting lineup and keep him there. Which was pathetic to say the least when we were clearly a better team with AB in there. I still think ray could be a great 6th man when healthy but he needs to accept his role.

Ray not liking Rondo is in accurate.
