I was just reading that the Kings do not plan to offer him a contract tender. They have had to play him out of position and according to sources he does not get along with Demarcus Cousins. Danny has liked Tyreke since the draft and I think he would be a great player who could play the 1,2 and 3 positions and allow us a ton of flexibility. Since he is on the outside looking in we could probably get him rather easily. Once July 1st comes around, we could trade him for future picks and just take back his salary since we would be under the cap. He certainly would be the scoring wing we need.

The main thing i'm concerned about is does his health check out?  If so I'd go after Evans.  He has been battling a plantar fascitis problem that has dulled his explosive ability.  When you can't plant properly off your foot, you can't drive as well.  I expect this also affected his jumpshot.

Evans has a reputation as a bit selfish but maybe it's because he was 'expected' to carry the team.  If the cost is not too high, I'd like to see us take a flyer on Tyreke.  He could give us quality replacement minutes for Pierce, be a spark off the bench, or be a future replacement down the road.  Certainly he excited me more as a player than Jeff Green who has been a dud outside of OKC.

Where did you read this?  That would be absolutely shocking.  I can understand them not offering him a longterm extension before he hits RFA, but it would be one of the stupidest moves in history to not offer him a tender.  He is still a very valuable asset at least.

If the Kings take Barnes at #5.  Then Tyreke could be one the way out in a draft day deal. Something to think about.

Yeah, its not like they can make a blockbuster move with the cap space it would free up...

The problem is that he's still under contract for a year. Maybe they won't tender an extension offer at this point, but that doesn't mean he's up for grabs.
