Pierce retiring makes no sense.  Two years ago he restructured his contract and took less money these past two seasons so he could get big salaries for the next two.  I don't think he's gonna turn his back on that and eat the pay cut he took, especially with $32 million still on the table.

The only reason he's even hinted at retirement is to discourage teams from trading for him, since it was rumored to come close to happening this year.

He won't retire.

He'll probably lay low for most of the summer, resting. We probably won't see much or hear much from him during the next few weeks.

But he'll return.

Next season will be normal..2-3 days (in most cases) off between games...none of this "back-to-back-back" mess that the condensed season put upon our vet team.

We won't have TWO heart conditions happen to key players (Wilcox and Jeff Green). I hope these two come back, because I feel they are key guys.

Brandon Bass has evidently committed, from what I saw in a thread earlier.

AB will be back - hungrier and BETTER than ever. For that young man to be only 20 21? and getting defensive recogntion around the league? And getting better offensively?

Why would Pierce want to retire from this?

We all know that a healthy AB would've limited Wade's play, and could've possibly swung this series the other way - even woth Bosh coming back.

KG will probably lay low as well - recuperating and resting. But he'll be back.

Ray is perhaps the only person I'm really concerned about. I'd LOVE to have him back, but I see him as maybe the only person that departs.

Plus, Danny has these TWO draft choices in the bag...I'm certain he does something good with them.

And finally - Rajon Rondo. A Rajon that is getting more comfortable with his J. A more mature Rajon. A True "pass-first" PG?

With that being said, what person WOULDN'T want to come back to that?
