I think it would be very hard for Rondo to not be suspended without it looking like favoritism to protect a star.

Yup it's in the rules and everybody is blowing it up, he's definitely gone for one game.

Even though I don't think it was much of a bump I think Stern will relish hammering us for one game.

He will get a two game suspension.

He got two games before for a very similar incident which involved him throwing a ball at a ref.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

This whole incident just sealed Atlanta's fate!
Right now Rondo is livid----fuming, seething with anger and frustration---and we've all seen what he's capable of when he is intensley focused.
Don't know how many games he'll be suspended for, but the last game of the suspension, I believe, will be the last game the hawks win.  I see Rondo triple doubles every game for the rest of the series!

Deliberately throwing the ball at a ref is nothing compared to barely touching one.  He gets one game, unfortunately for us it wasn't Game 1.

I say yes and to be honest I think (not hope) he should. That being said I think there could be some saving graces:

What's a little lost in the shuffle is that it was a terrible call that goes against the golden rule of officiating - it was a poor decision that decided the outcome of the game.

I think that, combined w/ the fact that Rondo did clearly trip a little on the leg of the official could result in him not getting  a suspension.

To be clear, I think he gets suspended, and I think his chest bump was both intentional and idiotic. But I do think there's a chance he might not get suspended.

EDIT: For clarification, I've played several sports in my life. Including, but not limited to badminton.

the way david stern sounded today, sounded like he will be suspended.

Easy answer, 'yes.'

Judging by this quote from David Stern, 'yes, definitely yes.'

Quote
"I don't want to pre-judge on what the recommendation is going to be," Stern said on ESPN Radio's "The Herd with Colin Cowherd." "But as a fan, he obviously bumped him. And you know what happens with respect to that."

Yes but that was intentional. I would say he gets 1 game, maybe 2 maximum. I think what's being overlooked is how Rondo intentionally did NOT stop himself from having his momentum carry into the ref. He didn't intentionally mean to bump him, but then again he intentionally didn't stop himself either. So 1-2 games max.
