Yeah, I really don't buy the notion at all that Doc has "improved." Guy's always been one of the best on the bench in the league.
I think it's been a matter of getting good, mature players who buy into his system. An ability to manage and coach elite egos and talent is the most important skill an NBA coach can have. Doc has that.He's the anti SVG, D'Antoni, Spoelstra, etc. Whether it's because of what he's been doing as a coach or who his players are, he's putting himself in that Jackson, Popovich, Riley class at least in terms of his current production.
