I am continually amazed by people who consider the words of the other day the definitive word on Rondo's future when the facts are crystal clear. It's nothing but wishful thinking.

Do I think Rondo's going anywhere? No. He doesn't have great value in the league. People aren't going to move quality for an attitude problem, so it became necessary for the Celts front office to take the discussion in another direction.

Do I think that Ainge and Doc's statements close the book on the possibility of a Rondo trade? Absolutely not. If they can land a Gasol or a Deron, he's history.

The desperation that some of you have resorted to at the notion of the possible trade of your binky is humorous.

Rondo does have value, that's why there has been a whole smear campaign that people like you hear and easily accept.

It's to drive his price down. Just good business by teams that would be interested in him, but not at the high price Boston would be asking for.

Wojo is rare in that he uses sources.  That doesn't happen that much in journalism today it is more about spouting your opinion.

Yeah, out of every NBA reporter/news source, I trust him the most...He's leaps and bounds better than everyone else.

I can accept the premise that the Celtics and Lakers never talked.

I could have also accepted the premise that the Celtics and Thunder never talked before the Perkins trade.

The thing that always stood out to me about the Rondo/Gasol rumor was that it's always been backed up that Rondo and the other players clashed. That doesn't necessarily mean it's probably Rondo will be traded, or ever was, but it does suggest that it's possible. The fact that the Celtics and Lakers probably haven't talked just means....that. It doesn't mean they won't talk, and won't come to an agreement. Even if that just means we'd be starting all over again with this rumor....hey, weirder things happened at last season's trade deadline, no?  :)

If it makes any difference, I think the Lakers fans would love to have Rondo for Gasol.

Per status of a buddy of mine (Lakers fan): "RONDO WE WANT YOU IN PURPLE AND GOLD...PLZZZZZZZZZZZ!"
