Cause I would... in a heartbeat...

Bos sends:

Rajon Rondo
JO
One of our first round picks

Bos recieves:

Tyreke Evans
DeMarcus Cousins
John Salmons

Sac sends.

Tyreke Evans
DeMarcus Cousins
John Salmons

Sac recieves.

Rajon Rondo
JO
First round pick...

Why would this trade work?

In doing this, Boston does give up Rondo... however they recieve a fairly good young replacement with a lot of potential in Evans, a very skillful young rebounding big in DeMarcus Cousins, and John Salmons whose awful contract could just be amnestied or something...

Sacramento receives a top pg with a great contract, a veteran center who still has some use in small amounts (especially on a roster that's deeper at the 4/5 and won't need to use him for half the game like Boston does) and a first round pick in a deep draft that should have some value, especially if the C's are only around 500 this year.

This trade would benefit us for a last year with the big 3 and for the future.

pg-Evans
sg-Ray
sf-Pierce
pf-KG
C-Cousins

idk I like it

No way they give both Cousins and Tyreke for Rondo (and change).

Very unlikely they give up Cousins alone for Rondo given Cousins' combination of talent and size (rare commodity). Doubtful they trade Tyreke for Rondo but not impossible.

maybe not (this was my first time using trade machine anyway and I figured id try something interesting since theres nothing to do until all the rumors come out haha) but there's no doubt in my mind they trade Tyreke for Rondo, thats a huge upgrade...

anyway its really Cousins I want haha

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It's certainly possible, Cousins is a tough throw in. I agree with the OP that they would definitely do Tyreke for Rondo and if we could get a pick on top of that, then it would be a possibility. Too bad Cousins isn't a little crazier, then we may have had a chance...

John Salmons whose awful contract could just be amnestied or something...

He can't be amnestied if the Celtics trade for him.

Sacramento would not trade Tyreke for Rondo straight up.  Why would they throw in perhaps the best young half-court center in the league as well?

It's certainly possible, Cousins is a tough throw in.

D-Cuz a "throw in"; are you serious?  He would be the most valuable asset in this trade.  I doublt SAC would even do Tyreke or D-Cuz straight up for Rondo.

Imagine This:
During the 1999-2000 season (Pierce's second season, antoine's 4th) a team offers the celtics someone like Jerry Stackhouse, Rasheed Wallace, Antonio McDyess, or Gleen Robinson (i.e. a slightly older, more established player that is top 5 at his position, definitely not top three, a frequent all-star but not a starter, and a non-MVP candidate) for BOTH Walker and Pierce.

WOuld you consider that?

Tyreke has 3 years of 17+/5/5 and Demarcus is already a double-double average at 21 years old.

I would trade Rondo in a heartbeat for just Cousins and PG filler. I doubt Sac does that. No way they do a 17/5/5 guy and a 16/11 guy, both under 25, for one 14/10/5 guy that can't shoot.

Nice Try.

Love the thought process, but Sacremento won't cooperate.
