What would it take to acquire this from them?
They have Rip Hamilton, but would they possibly want Ray or Pierce in exchange for this to try and get them over the hump this or next year?

It would have to be Rip Hamilton and CJ Watson heading to Boston in exchange for Ray Allen in order to make the salaries work. They would need to be confident in their backup PG replacement too. Not sure that they are.

I don't think they give up that Bobcats pick -- which could have serious value if Charlotte struggles to rebuild quickly, good chance of that -- but the Bulls would give up their own first rounder. Maybe if Boston sent their own first rounder to Chicago in addition to Ray Allen, does Chicago give up that Bobcats pick then?

If we're trading Ray for that, it basically means we're giving up KG as well and it'll probably be to the Bulls...

Boozer? 4 years of Boozer? Need booze. Fast. Unless we amnesty him?

Brewer+Watson for Ray works too, why would we want Rip Hamilton ? He is owed 5M the next year, if we're rebuilding he would probably want to leave anyway, plus he sucks right now.

And if we're helping the Bulls we should get the Bobcats pick.

It's more about Chicago. I expect they'd want to keep Brewer to give them a defensive wing off the bench and backup SF to Luol Deng but be willing to move Rip for Ray.

As long as we only get expirings (Scal, Mike James), i'm fine with anyone, I only want the Bobcats pick from the Bulls.

I think you definitely would have to take back Rip Hamilton and the $5m he is owed next season (plus the partially guaranteed year after that).  Then you need to take Korver or Brewer to match salaries.  And you probably also have to throw in a draft pick.

The Bobcats pick is listed as lottery-protected in 2012, top-12 protected in 2013, top-10 in 2014, top-8 in 2015, unprotected in 2016.

I dont give up Ray or Pierce for a pick, ever. Ray and a package which is sweetened with a pick possibly. Pierce no way.

chances are we don't see that pick until 2015 or 2016, and by then the 'cats will have had a number of years to rebuild through the draft.  not sure how valuable that pick really is.

I'd trade Ray Allen the Bulls for a NICE 1st round pick for sure.

Ray could get another ring, it'd be a nice story.

The only team i really care about NOT getting another championship is Los Angeles. I don't want them to have more than Boston.

Chicago is a great basketball city and deserves more rings.

Nevermind. This pick is top 14 protected in '12, top 12 in '13, top 10 in '14, top 8 in '15, then unprotected in 2016. Not that great of a pick.

tell you what. we did get that title and that was fabulous. But the bulls have done a much better job of a full, well balanced rebuild.

They got extremely lucky with getting the #1 pick and got Derrick Rose.

They also surrounded him with a great supporting cast. Cleveland got the luckiest pick since Duncan and messed it up.
