I greatly dislike Dooling.

Too erratic and inefficient/ineffective offensively to be a rotation player for a team with playoff hopes. He will cost the Celtics game(s) in the playoffs.

a backup point guard who will likely play 8-10 minutes a game is going to cost us game(s) in the playoffs?

come on now.

Dooling is so much better it makes me feel bad for you guys that don't see it.
nate has the better career averages

Nate also ran wild chucking shots on a NY team that had no business calling themselves an NBA team.
Keyon Dooling wasn't exactly on dream teams

Yes but Dooling had the decency to try and run a team offense and get guys involved anyway instead of thinking about his stats and chucking up as many shots as possible on those teams.

That somewhat explains why his stats aren't that good

Milwaukee fans were enamored with Kenyon Dooling to for the first few weeks of last season too. By the end, they wanted rid of him and were delighted when they had heard Dooling had moved to Boston.

Just like New Jersey's fans were a year earlier and the Magic's fans two years prior to that and Miami's fans three years before that.

Just like we will be 7-8 months from now. I hope I am wrong about this and Dooling finally comes good but his track record says otherwise.

Do people understand basketball here? How is Robinson an upgrade over Dooling? Not only is Dooling a much greater defensive player and a better point guard, they are comparable offensive players.

Last year for the Celtics Robinson shot 40.4 from the field, 32.8 from three, and 82.5 from the line. Dooling last year for the Bucks shot 39.7 from the field, 34.6 from three, and 83.0 from the line. Over the course of their careers, they are almost identical offensive players.

I am not even going to touch how much better of a point guard and defensive player Dooling is than Robinson. Almost everything points to Dooling being the much more complete player and obviously Ainge and Doc know and feel this.

Also last year Kenyon Dooling's win share for the Bucks was 2.9. Last year for Robinson in both stints with the Celtics and Thunder? 0.0 Thunder and 1.1 Celtics.

Dooling is the far superior player.

I take Dooling easier over Nate. Seems Danny has gone for high character low maintenance guys to fill out this roster and bench. Delonte, Baby & Nate while all very good players give the impression they needed baby sitting (excuse the pun!) at times. These new guys while not name players will pleasantly surprise us this year I am sure.

Actually Bucks fans are much more happy to get his 2+ million off their books because he would have been the 3rd string point guard on the team this year.  I'll admit I don't like Dooling that much, but he hasn't been on many good teams and I think he is better than Nate just for the fact alone of what others have said, he tries to run the offense and look for other players before himself.

He was actually more like fourth-string, with Brandon Jennings, Beno Udrih, and Shaun Livingston on the roster.

I feel that Nate Robinson is a better player, but Dooling is a much better fit for what the team needs.  People talk about limiting the minutes of the Big Three, but I think the Celtics need a legitimate backup point guard to give Rondo some rest.

lol.  did you just say this when comparing him to NATE?

I'm not a huge Dooling fan or anything, but he is the definition of a steady back-up, and will probably serve this team well.

ANd I really liked Nate.  He had personality, he was exciting, and when he was hot, he lit it up.

But he is a poor fit with this team.  And probably any team for that matter.
