I wouldn't mind seeing Redd (or Roy for that matter) give it a shot coming of the bench for the Cs.

Also I think all this Sasha hate is unjust. He is a perfect bench player for us. Has played minutes on a playoff team. Gives us decent size, athleticism and defense on the wing. He is also still only 28 and has shown that he can shoot the 3. What more could we really want out of our 3rd SF?

Redd is cooked, Redd should retire.
Have you seen him play this past year?
He is slower than shaq- can still shoot but not worth the risk.
We would have 9 million to spare and could probably get someone like Wilson Chandler on a one year deal when he comes back from China.
If we keep Green, I'd rather spend the money on another big like Pryzbilla. Although he's pretty much cooked as well we'd only need him for the playoffs to clog the paint and commit hard fouls on Lebron and Wade and Melo.

Really?  Have you seen his PPG production as a starter?   Do you really think it's going to get better with less minutes?

He has a 5.3 PPG average and he started over 1/4 of the games in his career.  I don't recall him ever being lockdown defender or that athletic.  Even old and dinged up Redd is almost his equal with one knee.  As for playoff experience those 5.6 PPG are not that impressive.   

With the loss of Green it is even more imperative that we someone with some pop offensively for the bench at the SG to spread the perimeter.  I for one, do not think he is guy to ful fill that role given his dismal career averages.

This isn't hate it is wanting to win.    He just doesn't bring much to the table and he is also a SG/SF not just a SF.  He would get ate alive by some of the taller SF.

wondering why redd isn't on the radar. he seems to fit a very clear need -- veteran bench scoring at the 2. he'd be pretty valuable for 10-15 a night, helping to space the floor for 2nd unit guys who need it (bass, wilcox, daniels). can't imagine he can command much cash, either....

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that between Marquis and Sasha, we'll be fine at the backup wing positions until Green returns.

Marquis and Sasha are both excellent defenders, maybe Pavlo better than Quissy. On the other hand, Sasha can shoot while Quissy can drive almost as well as Pierce (last time I saw the guy shoot was in 2009).
Makes me wonder why we need Green at all. Not questioning his talent, but if he doesn't show a lot, he'll have to take the bench's end. Or a contract in Europe.

Green is clearly more talented than Daniels or Pavlovic. You can pair him with both Pierce and Allen, and have the three of them play ~30 minutes, with Pavlovic or Daniels sopping up the rest.

Without Green, you're stuck with both Allen and Pierce playing 30+, and Daniels and Pavlovic playing 15+ minutes every night, which is clearly not a good situation for us.

Agree completely. Need Green's size against Anthony and Lebron, although Sasha has a lot of experience against Lebron.

My guess is he is looking for more than the minnimum but ends up settling for it once the season starts.
