It depends how badly Howard wants to stay in Orlando...playing for Stan Van...

In my opinion, I think Stan has yet to reach Howard and truly elevate his game and compete level.

The complex plan a few of you have outlined would be a tough sell for a guy who seems like he wants a change of scenery.

No need to trade Redick, as I believe his deal next year is non-guaranteed.
Well spotted. I didn't notice that. Fully non-guaranteed if waived before 8th August 2012.

So they could keep Gilbert, Redick and Hedo all until next summer. Only need to move Nelson and Bass this season ... to create all that cap space in 2012.
Or they could just wait until next summer and see if they can find a team that could just take on salary next summer and not send anything back.  For example, the Kings need to add 17 million dollars before the season just to hit the salary floor.  A team like that next summer might work (or they could perhaps trade both Nelson and Bass to the Kings right now for Thompson or something like that)
