How can you call yourself a Rondo-fan? Bynum might be a beast, but also a celtic hater, and a laker, and a injury prone. so..no

trade back perk. lol

That's what I was thinking. It's pretty clear to me now that there are a lot of Rondo dissenters on this board with the reasoning they use for their trades.

It's one thing to make trade ideas involving Rondo, but claiming we should trade Rondo cause West and Bradley can supposedly do the job in his place? Logic like that tells me some people on this site simply hate Rondo.

A healthy elite PG who plays through various injuries for a big, cheap shot, injury prone C?

No thanks.

It's not just the fact that a lot of the trade ideas are bad that makes it obvious that a lot of people have a very strange dislike for Rondo;  it's more than that the very fact that there is such relentless desire to trade arguably our best player.  It's not like people are proposing Pierce, Garnett and Allen trades every day.  No, it's always Rondo.

Not averse at all to moving Rondo and I stll find the contention that he's our best player humorous, to say the least.

But I don't move him unless I'm getting a quality point in return. Would I trade him for Chris Paul? As soon as I could sign the papers.

But Bynum? Not a chance.

I would do this deal in a heartbeat. Any move that immediately puts you back in contention, you do it. Andrew Bynum could be that player for the Celtics. Unfortunately, there's no way the Lakers do it. Even with the Zen Master out of town, there's no need for a ball dominant point guard. It will still be the Kobe show.

i dont see rondo as our best player..

really fam...

would yall chose rondo over pierce?
Fortunately, we have them both for a couple more years and, since they don't play the same position,  we do not have to choose between them.

Rondo's played 5 seasons and missed a total of 26 games. Bynum's played 6 seasons and missed 160 games. He's played in roughly 2/3 of LA's playoff games (I don't think Rondo's missed one) and he averages a little over half the minutes per game in the playoffs Rondo has. And even if he was healthy we're no better off without a pg than we are without a center.

TP. Can you imagine Rondo making incredible fake-behind-the-back-to-fake-layup passes to Kobe for him to dunk on the Celtics at the Garden?!? I can't ... this trade can not happen.

TP back at ya! ur right.. i wouldnt manage to watch a lakers-celtics classic, with Rondo tossing oops to gasol or kobe.. thats like switching larry bird and magic.. CMON SON!
Doc's gonna tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear.

Yeah iknow, my username is Kendrick Perkins and my ranking is Jeff Green. Ironic huh?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Rondo is more of an impact player than Bynum.

Rondo is more consistent than Bynum.

Rondo is more durable than Bynum.

Rondo is better than Bynum.

there's absolutely no guarantee we can sign either of those.  we have a core that was and STILL IS championship caliber after 3 years.  why break up a good foundation that's still running?  i just don't see the return being worth the gamble on investment.
Why did we gamble with Shaq, we knew he was injury prone? Lol. Its all about gambling in the NBA.

Honestly, this might be the dumbest trade idea iv seen. Rondo is perfect for what the celtics need (albeit he isnt a good shooter)your replacing an all star point guard for a quality (injury prone) center who makes more money per year than rondo... Were also trading with our Rivals.. Why in god's name would we trade rondo for the "possibility" of being able to getchris paul? We probably wouldn't have enough cap with the salary bump that bynum gives us so not only do we end up with 4 starters plus av or d.l as point, but we also have no legitamate shot at Paul. Bad idea. Never gonna happen.

If we trade Rondo, it takes us at least a year to rebuild our offense. Aside from the heart, the hustle, the speed, and the toughness that Rondo brings to the court, the largest advantage of having Rondo on the court is that he brings Doc Rivers with him.

Rondo is phenomenally intelligent, he knows all our plays, and has shown to know many of our opponents plays (like the entire Heat playbook). He's our coach on the floor, and has a better understanding of how to run his team than a lot of head coaches do. Even bringing in a top-three point guard will upset that in the short term. Any trade involving Rondo means that the window is closed.

The only players that I would trade Rondo for (D-Will, CP3) simply will not be traded for Rondo. Rondo is therefore untradable unless some GM loses his mind.
