I frankly don't have an issue with Lebron making the choice to leave Cleveland and go to Miami, although he could have handled it better.

And I could forgive " the decision"  But I want to disagree with people who say Lebron is just hated because he's arrogant.

Personally, I like it when athletes go out there with confidence in themselves, and the attitude of its my championship, come in take it from me.  I don't like stupid selfish play where my numbers is more important than my team winning.

But going out there with huge confidence/even the point of arogance is fun to watch when the athlete delivers.

The problem with Lebron is he said a lot of cocky things, but he didn't go out and exactly play like this is my championship and I'm going to beat you down (figuratively) if you even try to take it from me.

If your going to make arrogant comments you better be prepared to deliver them.

I think in contrast Lebron made those comments because he thought that him, Wade, Bosh would be unbeatable together. And that he could coast to a title.  But then when he faced the Mavs and he realized it wasn't the case he folded.

I think the most unlikeable thing about Lebron is the way he played.

There's a difference between having confidence in yourself, and going on TV for an hour to talk about yourself instead of just signing the contract like any other normal player.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

funny i think he and the Kardashians are very compatible,

both all "me me me me"...and would host an hour long show just to talk about "me me me me"

Lebron's been coddled by ESPN and the pundits since high school that he acts like he's entitled to get "rings" and acts like its something that should just be given to him instead to work for it. just listen to his interview after losing...acting like he'll get his ring eventually because he deserves it, or joining the heat because it would be "easier" for him.

the fact is, he's not entitled to getting a ring, and its hard work thats taken players years to finally get one. it took Jason Kidd 17years, KG, RA, PP years of toiling on ok-bad teams...

This was the case, yes.. but nowadays, ESPN pretty much puts out anything they think the general public will jump on Lebron over.

I think ESPN knows how hated he is and uses it to their advantage, especially on their website and some of the articles they put out..

Lebron definitely isn't coddled anymore.

I hate the fact that Lebron backed  Wade up when Wade started trying to hurt people.   That's a time to let your team mate know that they are going too far.

I agree with this. It's as if he sees getting a ring similar to getting his high school diploma, if you hang around long enough sooner or later they have to give it to you.

My biggest problem with him is his refusal to take responsibility for his teams losing. Early on, this was not as much of an issue. When the cavs got swept by the spurs in his first trip to the finals, he was very humble, saying that he had to work hard to get better and he had a better understanding of what it takes to reach the top after that loss. Somewhere after that season, his mentally changed big time, and he talks about big playoff losses as if they were not his fault.

The worst was after the latest finals loss, saying he felt they did enough to win. Really? If you really think so, then why did you lose? It's not like they lost in game 7 on a buzzer beater or anything. I would expect a great player in his position to say that they need to work harder to improve, especially him, and that he would do the best he can during the offseason to improve his game. But Lebron, nope. Apparently he believes he has no flaws in his game, and if that's what he really thinks then he will never be great. Players like Jordan, Bird, Magic, Kobe, they worked their butts off every summer hating the idea that someone else might exploit some weakness in their game, so they did their best to eliminate the weaknesses.

Until Lebron stops treating winning a title like getting a HS diploma, and gets his rear end in gear to improve the many flaws in his game, he will never, ever, reach the level of any of those players.
