Well the Mark Price thing was 2 years ago not last summer. How much did he work with him do you know? It's like me saying a played ball with Ray Allen this summer when in reality I shot hoops with him once in a gym. I'm not saying he didn't train a lot with him but I really didn't hear much about it except that he "worked with him" and then never heard anything about it again.

Right, sorry I meant two summers ago...obviously last summer he was with Team USA for most of the time. And apparently he worked with him everyday, according to this source anyways:

I haven't heard anything from Doc and Danny saying he has tried to improve his shooting. When and where did you hear that?

I don't have any specific quotes that I can find off the top of my head, but from watching a lot of interviews of KG, Danny, Doc, Pierce, ect. over the years they've always said that Rondo has a great work ethic...not necessarily in regards to shooting, but I don't see why that wouldn't apply. I've also seen a lot of videos from Chris Forsberg's (from ESPN Boston) youtube account of Rondo shooting jumpshots after practice, FWIW.

And here is a piece about Rondo's work ethic, and how he tries to learn from KG/Ray:

What has Rondo improved on in the last couple years? He has been pretty much the same exact player for 2-3 years. He has been playing with the same big 3 pretty much the whole time and then Shaq. Nothing about his game has changed or really improved. He's not even more consistent which is the one thing Danny and Doc have been talking about since 08.

Well, what more does he need to improve on besides his shooting and FT%? His defense, passing, rebounding, leadership, and ball handling ability is already way above average. And before injuries took a toll on him this season he was very consistent, and I thought he was pretty consistent last season as well.

I've seen Derrick Rose come back from a summer and be a 3 point shooter I've seen Dwight Howard come back from a summer with a newly developed post game, even for all the Russell Westbrook bashing he used to have a shot like Rondo!!

And yet Rose is still a mediocre three point shooter, and Westbrook certainly didn't turn into Nash or Paul. They made some improvements, but it's not like they became great overnight...and what did it take, about 5 or 6 years for Dwight to finally get a post move?

I'm not going to get into each rebuttal but come on he was on Team USA and the day before they made cuts he mysteriously had a family issue. Let's be realistic he was CUT from Team USA.

I don't doubt that Rondo works hard, I've see him play in games and that doesn't come from sitting around. No one can deny though that he has an absolute MAJOR hole in his game. He could be an MVP player he could be a Chris Paul or Derrick Rose or even better. His one major flaw has not been improved on at all in the last few years. With Doc and Danny pleading "he needs to be able to hit those shots" "Teams give him those shots he needs to be able to hit those". I've seen these quotes from like 3 years ago. It's really remarkable because it's the same stuff we are talking about now, "he needs confidence" "he needs to be consistent" "he needs to be at least an average shooter"

Rondo was shooting better this year until his play tailed off late in the year (in part due to a hand injury). Rondo does have a couple of flaws in his game, I agree. But he's good enough at other aspects of his game to make up for it. He has a positive impact on the game for the Celts, a big one, whether people understand why or not.

Did Ben Gorden play this year?

Is he still in the league?
The beatings will continue until morale improves

Talent wise, I would love Gordon off the bench.  Offensive go getter.

I don't even mind the likely trade cost.

It is the contract I don't want.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
Just jumping in at the end of this thread, so I appologize if I am stating something other people have already typed.

Rondo for Gordon is crazy.

I like Gordon and actually think he could be worth his contract on a very good team as a sixth man.

If Jermaine decides to retire how about this trade:
JO and Big Baby for Gordon and the Pistons unprotected first in either 2012 or 2113.

The Clippers showed the price of unloading a bad contract and I think it might be worth picking up a piece that could help you if you could get a very high draft pick.

On the other hand, if the NBA institutes a one time contract amnesty I bet he isn't on the Pistons for much longer.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19
