If we take a guard, I want Marshon Brooks.  Taking Jackson is basically admitting that Ainge screwed up with Bradley.  There's no reason to have both Bradley and Jackson, they're the same type of player.

Not so. Reggie is a natural PG meanwhile Avery appropriate position is the 2.

If he's a natural PG why do we even want him then?
do it

mmmm I don't know besides wanting an effective 2nd unit. Delonte tried to but to no avail. 2nd unit needs a natural PG running it. But at this point its all speculation. Highly unlikely Reggie Jackson lasts till #25. He is freak of nature 7foot wingspan for a PG is unreal.

I heard he was a late first/early second rounder cause he's a tweener, and he has a garbage jump shot. He shot 27% this season from college 3...And he's not a true PG, so we have a guy who COULD be a solid defender who is too small to be a 2, can't shoot and doesn't have true PG skills. I don't know about that pick...

http://www.nbadraft.net/players/reggie-jackson

Two things...Nbadraft.net is awful, and two...that writeup was from the beginning of his sophomore year. He shot 42% from 3 this past season, along with 80% from the line, and 50% from the field.

I HIGHLY doubt he lasts until 25 anyways, his stock has already been rising quite a bit, and once they get into team workouts and they see a legit 6'3 pg, who can run a team fairly well, shoot from deep, is a great athlete, AND takes care of the ball, he will end up going between 14-20 i'd bet. He's a guy whose style of play is a great fit for the nba.

I don't think Reggie Jackson's got the pop he used to have.  He must be at least 50.

Frighteningly to those who grew up with Mr. October, the real Reggie is 65.

So we waste a 1st round pick on a guy whos going to play 8-10 minutes? It hardly seems worth it.  I feel we can find that guy in free agency.  Jackson may end up being alright, but if we draft a guy that is 6'3 or under I want Jenkins from Hofstra.  We have more important needs than a PG.  The issue the bench wasnt successful was not the PG, but more Doc's rotations and ineffective bigs.

People questioning the reasons for drafting point guard prospects are forgetting that our best trade asset moving forward happens to be a talented young point guard on a very reasonable, movable contract.

If we draft a player with the 25th pick who is good enough to get 8-10 minutes next year then ill be very happy.

We have to take the best player available no matter what position.

Sounds good in theory, but I'd be worried about Reggie losing his focus in a key moment to try and assassinate the Queen.

With Enrico Palazzo out of the way, I'm not sure who could stop him.

Why does Danny Ainge refuse to draft bigs!?  Our biggest weakness the last two years was rebounding, yet he will take a 6-2 guard and a 6-3 guard who play the same position almost.

I don't know much about Reggie the PG, but I have seen some thunderous dunk highlights on youtube.  Sounds good to me!  Maybe he can rep the Cs at the NBA dunk contests ala Gerald Green...

Also, if Danny is reportedly interested in him, I wonder who Danny is *really* interested in.

You are assuming that Danny is truly interested in the guy and not trying to get his stock to rise so that a big man drops to the Cs!

Perk
Jefferson
Erdin

Were all pretty big

Baby
Powe
Gomes

Had some size.

So, he does draft bigs.  And when he does, they seem to produce at an NBA level.

So, if he doesn't see a big man late in the 1st round that he likes, I have not issue with him not drafting a big.

And let's be honest, in a weak draft like this, the Celtics are drafting 2nd round talent in the 1st.

He has explained this in no uncertain terms in the past: he thinks GMs get infatuated with size and draft players of dubious quality.

And I believe he's absolutely correct, given the plethora of mediocre big men selected mid to end of the first round in recent drafts.
