I hope the Pats take Locker if he's there. I think he is a franchise QB and could be groomed to take over after Brady...

I think I'd rather see them go after Ricky Stanzi later in the draft, late 3rd or 4th.

can't say I know much about Stanzi, but from what I've seen Locker could be another Steve Young...bullet arm, great balance and speed, tough as nails.

Given the current state of Celts and Sox, it's no wonder this thread is getting action today!!

Being a BC Eagles fan the guy I would love to see them get is OT Anthony Castanzo. Kid is a beast OT and will be one of the better OT in the game for the next 10 years. Just my opinion but I think he is that good.
How do you feel about Herzlich?  I like him in the late rounds as a leader and a down hill linebacker, it's just that I don't think he can drop in coverage, which is pretty critical to this league, and the Pats in particular

Herzlich can cover in zone schemes, he is very instinctive.  On Man to Man schemes he would struggle though.
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I like him. I'm just not sure he's better than Fletcher.

After watching Herzlich this past season, its a bit unclear to me how much of his play was a result of rust and how much was related to his illness/recovery.

I don't think he's an everydown LB in the NFL.  In my eyes, he's an ideal situational back.  The guy can still pursue with the best of them.  I'd be concerned with his pass coverage abilites at the next tier as well as his ability to shed blocks on running situations.  My guess would be that he's more likely to adjust to the latter rather than the former.

Certainly worth a mid-late draft gamble, though.

They are saying taht Ingram is due to visit Pats:

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/04/17/mmqb/1.html

Pick 1  Castonza
Pick 2  JJ Watts (or someone like him)
Pick 3  Ingram

That is my fantasy draft. Go on the safe side with OL and DL but then take a chance on an RB.
