I can't take it anymore ... I love/hate this time of year ... BUT I REALLY HATE WHEN DONNY MARSHALL COMPLETELY CALLS OUT THE CELTICS ON CSNNE AFTER A "GRIND IT OUT VICTORY" AND LABELS THEM NON-CONTENDORS. Thanks for ripping my heart out Donny ... TRY TALKING THAT MESS WHEN TOMMY'S AROUND.  >:(

Compared to the Heat and Bulls, the Celtics don't look like a contender right now.  The two games of this series so far have resembled a matchup between a 4 seed and a 5 seed - two teams who have no chance of going anywhere beyond the second round.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

playcalling and execution

and nerves of steel! lol! i thought i was gonna have a heart attack! How many times has KG sealed the game for us with his defense? I remember him deflecting a pass from Nelson to seal the deal, almost the exact play he made with Jeffries!

The Celtics have been winning this kind of game since Red was coaching.   Every game will not be a blowout.  This kind of game has been a step to  many championships.

IMO, Blowouts lead to letdowns.  Scratching and fighting for wins makes the team hungrier to get more wins, instead of just expecting wins and coasting.

tp. you are so right. Thank you.

I'll take 16 ugly/ grinding/ skin of their teeth/ whatever wins.
Those 20 Knicks offensive rebounds got on my nerves, though.

The Bulls are lucky to not be down 2-0. Their games have been very similar to ours and the Pacers haven't got a full squad either- missing two key players.
This is the playoffs- Carmelo and Amare have both had games playing out of their skin. We have played at 60-75% of our full potential. We have had different players step up in both games (game 1=ray+Jermaine, game 2 =KG +rondo)
When we get to the second round the idea is to have 3 or 4 guys all clicking in one smooth operation.
That's what I'm hoping we will bring against the Heat and then the Bulls- if the Bulls get by the Magic.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Haha, what? The Bulls are lucky not to be down 0-2 right now.

There isn't much of a difference between this series and the 1-8 matchup. Heck, the 1- and 2-seeds in the West LOST their games. Let's write off LA now too.

I think it is safe to say the Knicks are tougher than the Sixers, Pacers and even the Grizz and Hornets. We aren't blowing them out, but we are 2-0. Hollinger may be disappointed (OMG, only +2.5 at home in their last two games! Who cares about their record in the playoffs??!?!?), but I'm not.

say what? usually we're on the losing. Actually if there could be an answer try this: the Knicks are a dumb basketball team. Witness their closing seconds play last 2 games. 50% chance we're 0/2. Basketball is a 5 minute game. The whole season could be played in a couple weeks. We're just on the right side of the coin because it isn't for the talent displayed.
