I pay particular attention to the bench during timeouts and during the last 2 regular season games, it was Pierce, Ray and Rondo sitting together most of the time, joking and having a good time.

This is just someone making a mountain out of a molehill.

This is simply a comment about P Double's incredible unselfishness compared to other superstars. Ray loves Rondo for all those delayed scoop passes on the break for open 3's.

"If I can think about every shot that I've hit to win a game in a Celtics uniform, Paul's probably the guy that's passed it to me."

That's a very interesting choice of words.  I'm becoming more certain that there is a friction between Rondo and Ray.

In context, it was clear nothing more was meant by it, other than the fact that it was a nice pass from Pierce.

He was talking about how the play had many different options, and how he ended up with the shot.

Honestly, I don't think there is any friction between Rondo and Ray.  From what I understand, Ray is actually the closest to Rondo of all of the veterans.

Speaking of Ray / Rondo - their ability to create offense last night was awful. Compared to say LAL last year, where Kobe does the same sag off, they couldn't get Ray open looks and when he did, he looked tentative early. Is this all the difference between Fields and Fisher?

That the quote had anything to do with Rondo did not even cross my mind when I heard it. Ray said most of his game winning 3s have came from a Paul pass because they did. This theory is quite a bit far-fetched to put it kindly.

Of course Rondo has assisted on a number of crunchtime threes but for game winners which is what Ray was talking about here Paul has assisted the most: two against the Bobcats, two against the 76ers, @ Toronto, against the Blazers. Really the only Rondo pass I can think of was against Chicago (where Harlan called him Woody Allen so I can forgive Ray for forgetting that one). That's a 6:1 ratio right there.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Rondo will rarely have the ball in his hands with the game on the line.

This is not about Rondo.

True

This particular statement of Ray's is not about Rondo, I agree.  But the reason Rondo doesn't have the ball in his hands with the game on the line is, so in a way that's not exactly true.
Until Rondo solves his offensive problems (shooting and free throw shooting) this team will always have to rely on Paul or Ray to make the plays at the end of game.

In no way was that a shot at Rondo but was probably more of a shot at Melo and the Knicks. The Celtics play more together and don't play hero ball and at the end of the game Paul, who typically has the ball in ISO is not afraid to pass the ball if he doesn't have a good shot and it's usually to ray or KG.

Melo however played hero ball and look where it got him, a lose. He should have passed that ball to Douglas, who had just hit a 3 before, or someone else who was open. He did not take advantage of the C's double team and he just tossed it up. That is the reason why I do not think the Knicks will win a title until Melo and the rest learn true team basketball.

Well Rondo isn't attracting a double-team so this seems to make perfect sense.
