I don't think anyone has brought this up, but with the 2 seed, it looks like we'd play New York and the 3 seed, Philly.  Any thoughts on who you'd rather we play.  We've struggled against Philly and the knicks are a dangerous team.
If we tank for three seed, the heat would play the knicks and they have struggled against them.  SO what do you guys think?

Ya, i was thinking the same thing.  It took a 110% effort from them a week ago when we beat them, and I doubt they could keep that up in a 7 game series.

You're most likely right about not getting the 1st seed but having the best regular season doesn't necessitate winning a championship.

Having HCA advantage over the Lakers probably is necessary for winning a championship, though.

We did have it after we won gm 2 in LA last year.  It didn't seem to help us,

I agree it would help having it. Having it guarantees #18, not having it leaves the door open for another letdown imo.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Lols, I guess losing to the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that is currently the 8th seed in the West didn't exactly help our chances of remaining the first seed in the East -- I doubt that the San Antonio Spurs would want to drop a home game to the Grizz once the playoffs actually start :-[

Combine that with the fact that the Chicago Bulls recently defeated the Grizzlies at home and you can start to see why teams like the Bulls, Lakers, Mavs and Heat have gained on us or surpassed us in the win/loss column.

With only two weeks left I'm hoping that at the very least our guys can remain healthy for the playoffs and make sure not to drop any more seeds. We have games against both the Miami Heat and the Chicago Bulls before the end of the season so there's always that to think about...

Well, it looks like I spoke too soon because the Grizz are up 4 vs the San Antonio Spurs with under a minute left 8)

Playing like tonight's game vs Wolves, we deserve the 3rd or 4th seed in the East

Do you think this is more necessary against the Lakers than say having home court over the Spurs if we end up in the finals versus them instead?  I mean, we don't know who will be there at the end.  As I said earlier:

I agree that it would be helpful to be the first seed,  but we weren't gonna have home court guaranteed no matter what considering at least the Spurs have had a better record than us all season.  Plus the playoffs are all about who the best team is in that moment.  Momentum swings back and forth and I still have faith that the C's can get it together at the right time to make a run at a championship.

Having the best record wouldn't hurt but what it takes to get the first seed might hurt. We're clearly not playing our best right now but I don't see any teams playing at a higher level than we were for the bulk of the season.

TP.  I think this is exactly right.  We played at that level for most of the season, there's no reason to believe we can't get back there for the playoffs.  If you really think about it, the Celtics didn't really hit a major slump all season which is pretty usual in the course of an NBA season, perhaps it just happens rearing its ugly head now.

I would pick the knicks no contest. They play no defense and we seem to always have luck playing them.

Become Legendary.

I would agree that the 1st seed is gone if it wasnt for the fact that we have one more game against the bulls, which is huge. If you assume we win that game (i know, dumb assumption but work with me) then we're really one game back and that's not as bad as 2...we'll see

Plus we'd have the tie-breaker if we win that game. The one seed is very much in play, if the C's start playing better ball.
