another day another loss for miami....at least this time they did not have to worry about worsening their record in close games, but they are now 1-8 against the elites (bos,Chi,SA,LA,DAL) 4-10 if you include Orlando and OKC.  14-17 against teams .500 or better.

Please can we stop talking about the Heat as an elite team.  They may drop to 4th in the east.

They have two huge problems at the 5 and the 1.

PG Depth
Chalmers (Young, Has no control over the team, Not a great perimeter shot)
Bibby (Slow defensively, big chucker from 3pt range)

C Depth
Dampier (Old, slow, bad tempered, poor offense)
Zydrunas (Slow, uncoordinated, poor defense)

even at the 4 the backups for Bosh are Anthony and Juwan Howard....hardly a good bench at all.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

Big 2 1/2 and the terribles.

Cant beat good teams with only 3 players. Simple.

So much for "crushing the Spurs - who proved how an "elite" team plays

Especially when those 3 can't, won't, or simply don't play together.

Remember Jeff Van Gundy's bold predictions after the Heat signed LeBron & Bosh?  They were never supposed to lose 2 in a row, they were going to break the Bulls all time record for wins in a season and maybe top the Fakers consecutive game winning streak.
What a joke.

Pretenders really not contenders.   They are in the dictionary next to bottom feeder...

If Lebron would realize he should be a souped up combo of Pippen and Oscar Robertson, ie play the point, average rougly 20 a game but facilitate the offense and pick up those 10-12 assists a game, rebound and play lock down defense, while allowing Wade to be the primary scorer, Miami would be a real contender now imo.

The best part about that is the wildly skewed poll options, which include one for 80+ wins, and only one option for less than 70.

I think the hype the Heat got is in the preseason usually exaggerated in hindsight, but that was just full on gushing.  I'm picturing Van Gundy clinging to LeBron's leg like he did with Zo.  :)

1-9 against the elites (bos,Chi,SA,LA,DAL)
4-11 if you include Orlando and OKC.
14-18 against teams .500 or better.
5-13 when game is within less then 5 points

i don't remember any "championship" team with these kinds of records this late in the season

Nope, sorry, I have seen it on espn many different times and heard from different anouncers
the miami heat are the best team in the nba, lebron is a demigod walking amongst us and what was it he predicted they are going to win 7 ? titles
I think NY will be better than them come playoff time AND chicago is a team to reckon with

If Lebron spoke it, so let it be written, so it shall be done.  ::)

Well, they can at least say the words "do it the right way" and "sacrifice," but obviously can't actually do it.
