Wow, It has been awhile and it took something like this to get me out of hibernation! I have been lurking.
At first glance, I am completely and utterly shocked. I wonder how we can get through the Magic or Lakers, hell, even the Bulls without a legitimate, healthy defensive center. I cannot imagine Shaq and Semih starting so there has to be another shoe to drop.
At second glance, Danny must know that they have no intention of signing Perk long term and or/Perk had no intention of signing. So, Jeff Green is a [dang] good something rather then prospect of nothing. Plus, it opens up a come to Boston dream/idea for the monster in Orlando. I could live with a Green/Rondo/Howard trio as a bridge to the future. Maybe Danny is fearful about the Perk injury/recent surgery and does not want to commit the funds to lock him up when you know teams like the Knicks, and Thunder will overpay for a center next year.
At third glance, what center is coming through our door to help us this year, when we were so primed to win. I am still shocked, but will hold off judgement until I see our final roster. I really thought with a healthy Perk, there was nobody who could stop us this year.
