Ray returns to Boston obviousely...and someone agrees to sign an extension.
This is the best package any team could offer the other team I guess...

One of the reasons I think Ainge should do this move next offseason is because the only other team that could threaten us are the Bulls, they could do a Noah,Deng,Asik,Gibson for Howard and Turkoglu, right now they are under the cap so the trade didn't workout but that is perhaps a better package overall than we can offer the Magic. That's why Ainge shouldn't wait until 2012.
At least try doing this from the beginning of the off season, in the worst case we could do like the Nets, make some other team overpay to get Dwight Howard so no other team will get a super team if they get Howard.
A Bulls team with a ballhog like Rose,no Deng will almost be like the Magic now.

So what you're saying is the Magic trade their superstar center and an ok wing for a defensive minded starting C, potential 6th man candidate, and a bunch of filler? I don't see why the Magic would make this trade. I know PER isn't everything, but they project to win 10 less games while we win 9 more games. If I were them I wouldn't make this trade, and if I were them I wouldn't trade Dwight for anyone other than..lebron or durant, and MAYBE chris paul.

Not trying to be mean at all either so sorry if I came off that way. But I also find it laughable that any team would buy out Ray Allen..unless of course you meant he stays there for the season and returns to Boston..but that would require Ray rejecting any contract extensions/offers.

The Magic proved they can and will make moves to get help for Dwight. I don't see them giving up on him now.

First of all I just said the Bulls probably(most definitely) have a better package than us in Noah and Deng..I'm not saying otherwise but who should we offer them,  Rondo ?
He's the only reason Dwight would sign an extension here..and of course the big 3. Second of all Ray has a player option so he isn't meant to remain with Orlando but returns to Boston, Qrich is just meant to make the salaries work.

One of the main reason we should do this is, once the Bulls and other teams hears about this rumours they will go nutts, look what happened to the Knicks, they overpaid and the next day Nets get Deron Wiliams,we could try hard to go after Dwight, if we fail and some other team (Bulls) get him they would've lost Noah,Deng most likely and they will push to make a trade before Howard becomes a FA, and Orlando couldn't get a better package than that.

Then we trade Rondo,Perkins for CP3 and Okafor, see the big picture here..

I'm definitely against a panic move in response to the Knicks & Nets. I think our best hope for an offseason splash, is actually a much simpler move. I'm not sure how things will look with this CBA drama, but I definitely think Danny should aggressively pursue a trade for OJ Mayo.

Assuming he's not dealt by the deadline, I think Mayo can be a good fit next to Rondo for the future (and he's already stated he'd love to play with Rondo). A season with Ray mentoring him could really help him from a mental standpoint - because the talent is definitely there.

I don't think anyone's sure of how much or how little Memphis values him at this point, even though it's a bit obvious they won't extend him. Here's what I'd offer to start: Avery Bradley (I know ppl think he's trash, but apparently he's been garnering trade interest) + a 1st Round Pick + maybe a 2nd Round Pick protected through #47.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Considering Howard is far better than Melo and far less likely to want to leave Orlando, why wouldn't Orlando demand real assets in a trade offer?

You are undervaluing Derek Rose, the coaching ability of Thibs, and the vast improvement of Howard over Noah.

I know that's why we need(ed) to make a move, now we don't have enough pieces for a trade with Perkins out, we just have to wait out Howard till he becomes a FA or just watch the Bulls take him, they would offer Noah,Deng or Noah,Boozer to get him.
