What are the home/away splits?

Miami has one advantage right now - 4 more home games and 6 less road games remaining. Consider both teams lose about twice as frequently on the road, it could mean 1 or 2 more losses for us (ignoring the details of SOS for the moment).

They have one of the toughest schedules for their remaining games. But they have more home games and also have lots of rest days in their schedule.

Its going to be tight.

Time for SA to start losing some games.
Philly:

David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I doubt that we can catch SA at this point.

They're four games up in the loss column and have played more road games than the C's.

We're not catching SA.

Best case for us is that we get HCA and then face anyone but SA in the finals since I think we have a legit shot of having the second best record in the league.

Unlikely but 4 losses is far from impossible.  All we need is a strong win streak which we likely need to stay safe from Miami.  The rest is up to the Spurs.

It's not impossible. We are down 4 in the loss column, and with a win against them will make it 3. We would then hold the tiebreaker.

The only way we catch them is with a win in SA. If we lose that game, settle for HC against everyone else

I'm not horribly worried about them though. I want HC for the Lakers first and foremost, only because of the travel. HCA over Dallas, Miami, and Chicago would be nice too though.

If we could somehow have a 3+ game lead for HCA on St Patrick's Day, I would be ecstatic.  The schedule certainly presents the opportunity to do that.

Anything less than that and I'd start to become real nervous about securing that #1 seed for the playoffs.

Remember, we're already effectively up 2 in the loss column on Miami due to our head-to-head.  If tonight breaks well, we could be 3 losses up.

Every win is a big one from here on out, and so is every loss.  Just have to hope the guys can keep putting up Ws and Miami and Chicago falter a bit.
We also play both Chicago and Miami again this year correct? Those games will likely either put it away for one team, or pull the other team into a tie.

We're up 3-0 on Miami, so they're not breaking the tie with us at this point regardless.

The game still counts as far as overall record goes, which is what I was referring to.
