I have a good friend in Columbia, SC that spoke with George Glymph, who is JO's high school coach and he told my friend that JO should be back in early March-full go.

I hope this is true. We need JO healthy and we need Delonte and a SF to get banner 18.

Hopefully this is accurate; March is right around the corner.

Also nice to see a positive thread about JO for a change.

Full go for how many games? 2 or 3 before he needs surgery on his knees again and will only be able to play in a few games during the playoffs?

Unfortunately, this is the truth about the whole situation, (TP) ... J.O. was a liability when we signed him, and none of this surprises me at all. I personally wish that money had been spent more intelligently, but Danny can't get them all right, I guess. We should have a pool/poll as to when the next injury will be, cuz I guarantee you it won't be long. I personally think a lot of it's a head thing, and that he likes the money, but not the hard work. Sorry, but that's how I've always perceived Jermaine to be, and he just keeps reinforcing the concept for me.

Thanks for the update.

Dropping the obvious doubt on his durability, JO needs 20-25 games to round into playoff shape.

And sure, he's been a disappointment this year--but no more so than Perk's quick return has been an upside surprise.

If we get JO back, I just hope Doc can figure out how to use Shaq and him situationally.  I'd love to see JO get at least a look at the 4 in lineups with Shaq and Perk on the floor.

Mike
I agree.  If, indeed, his knee is bone on bone as was reported previously, I don't know any surgery that would keep him on the floor for long stretches or for back to back games.  Maybe a doctor could answer that...But he was an effective shot blocker/rebounder in the very short time that he has been on the floor, and against teams like the Lakers, there are situations where that could come in very handy.  JO has to get familiar with the play of his team mates again, as does Delonte, but since he will be playing very limited minutes, it seems to me that the shape of his knee is more important than his overall physical conditioning (as opposed to Davis, who is expected to play many minutes, for example).

I am the optimist who hopes to see a few quality minutes defensively, under the basket, from JO.
