Danny seems happy to stand pat .. betcha that wont stop the next 10 trade idea threads though  ;) (not that there's anything wrong with that either!)

From WEEI:

Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge joined The Big Show for his weekly visit and said that the team was likely to stay intact through the rest of the season. The trade deadline is Feb. 24, but Ainge pointed to the return of Kendrick Perkins last week, as well as the return of Delonte West, hopefully in late February. "Of course there's players out there that are good players, but I like our team," Ainge said. "I like the mix when we're all healthy. It's also very difficult to make any trades because the contracts that could make some significant noise are the contracts of our big four. And then the guys on our bench like Perk or [Glen Davis], we certainly don't want to move any of those guys to make and of those trades. So I like our team and I think this is probably the team that we'll be with by the time the season ends."

Stay classy, San Diego. Hello, Baxter? Baxter, is that you? Bark twice if you're in Milwaukee. Is this Wilt Chamberlain? Have the decency to say something.

I don't have a major issue with that. Nate's not adding much, but West will be back soon enough to limit his minutes.

That's awesome. Why fix something that isn't broken? We have some great depth on this team and some names coming off the bench that could easily be starters so I'm happy with this Celtics team.

Most of the guys they have can play other positions if needed and the slim position they have could be SF but you could slip Wafer or even maybe Gody or Baby if needed. I still wouldn't be surprised if a deal happened but it's comforting to know he most likely won't be the one who calls the other GM.

My interpretation is we are not breaking up any of the core players (like the rumors last year); we are not trading any key role players (BBD is NOT going anywhere); and our other players have no trade value to the point we couldn't use them to improve the team.  Sorry but nobody wants JO or Nate or AB, or Gody; we aren't getting a franchise player or all star caliber player in return for any combiation of those guys.

Anyways this team is solid, why change a 35-10 team?

Yeah cant argue with that... Seems to be the best thing to do. This team has great chemistry from player 1-12, I dont wanna screw that up just for the sake of making a minor addition to a guy ho probably wont crack the rotation.

So true. I like our team as it is now and think we can win the Championship.

Chemistry has to be taken into account when thinking of trading so late in the game. The chemistry on our team is unusual and I don't think other teams have it like we do.
There's just something special about being a Celtic and being a part of something so big. Von Wafer, for instance, has just grown so much in the short time he's been here, when previously he could not seem to find a team to fit on. Look at him now. He belongs.

There's something about belonging to this team that is a huge motivator. Having all these amazing veterans to learn from and be mentored must be extremely satisfying to every one on the team.

I agree with Danny.,

I'm happy with standing pat, too.  In the unlikely event that Rip Hamilton was bought out and was interested in Boston, I'd be willing to cut somebody for him, but otherwise, I don't see a lot of options to upgrade what we already have.

if Nate keeps struggling I could see them shopping his expiring deal but probably not

things change over time - he could catch fire in a few weeks and Delonte could always get hurt again, so I'm fine standing pat too

Don't kid yourself Ainge say's this every year.
He knows we need another move.  3 point shooter, scorer off the bench or another big as insurance.  He'll wait it out until he is able to examine what is available vs  the status of Perkins, J0 and West.  Before any real decisions are made.

He isnt an expiring but still I want to hold on to him. When West comes back, he will become depth. Plus I see him as having the most upside of anyone on the team. He is going through the worst shooting stretch of his career most likely. He is bound to turn it around and I want him to be on the Celtics when he does

I think the only thing we need is another guy on the team that has a chance at guarding LeBron besides Pierce.

Wow there is a shocker the team with best record in East and 2nd overall with additional players yet to play due to injury aren't going to make a move.

Maybe this will cut down the trade 'ideas' that have no shot of coming to fruition by at least .00001%.

TP and thanks for the update.

Exactly, the team with the best record in the East, again, and how are we going to make that better and adjust the chemistry if we take on other players. I'd like to finally just sit back, relax and enjoy. ;)
