Sarcasm or not, are we going to rebuild around Davis and Melo?  I think Rondo and Melo would be better pieces but Melo wants to play with Chris Paul and Amare so I think that ship has sailed.

I've thought about it and thought about it. Tinkered with the trade machine for days and hours on end, and I believe this is the only reasonable solution to our problems. It makes perfect sense for us and this organization.

I would definitely like to see this happen and its somewhat feasible. Allen is getting old and he's too predictable in the playoffs. He runs in circles. He knows it and the opponents know it. Perkins and Daniels are expendable in my eyes.

Pierce and Garnetts are the nucleus of the team. They crave a championship. I don't like seeing Rondo go though. That does seem like a bit much, but i would be in favor of it.

I love Ray Allen and I would never want this trade to happen unless someone could use thier time machine to prove it would get us banner 18 this year. Would almost rather lose in the finals with Ray than win with Iggy... Almost :P

I actually don't mind that trade even if it was meant as a joke.  Anthony is a much better player then Rondo and is still very young.  I think he would be a much better piece to build around going forward.  We get rid of some injury concern players or guys expiring for veterans who have championship experience so that isn't bad.  Perkins leaving sucks, but I think he is gone this summer anyway since I don't think Danny is going to pay him what he can get elsewhere, plus you have no guarantee on his health.

This team would pose huge matchup problems

Billups, Pierce, Melo, Garnett, Shaq with Robinson, West, Davis, and Wallace in the rotation

i agree our current team is better. it doesn't have as much "talent" as your proposed trade would bring us, but all the guys we have are chemistry players.

losing rondo would be pretty much blowing up the team. plus losing ray would be getting rid of  almost 50% of our plays on offense
